The extra launcher is why I have never bought any of these games. I specifically look for studios that don't require us to get their own launchers.

Wish this game was available with the AC2 bundle for the switch. I don't think is available for last gen consoles, only for PC.

The Ubisoft launcher will run in the background. Functionally, you will never see it after the initial login. Get it on Steam if you prefer Steam's launcher, get it on Ubisoft if you prefer theirs.

I do remote play from my PC in my office to my living room TV and the Ubisoft launcher is often a very noticeable point of friction to an already fairly tedious process. Another chain link able to break in a long one (e.g. getting regularly logged off and having to log back in with controller). I have much less issues with other launchers. As usual with PC, mileage may vary depending on config ...

On another note: I am glad to have done AC1, graphics are still fine enough, it introduces a lot of stuff that will be found in games after, loved the environment (period and background) BUT the gameplay is pretty bad. Not only the very repetitive and predictable gameplay loop is a bit boring, but the accuracy of the parkour is just atrocious. Worth doing for other factors, but it gets frustrating to just "play" it.
