Remember, discount tire will price match both Sam's and Costco. Even the free installation. They have the same road hazard protection. Though you have the option to purchase even better protection. Always get it done at discount tire. You'll get better service and incredibly quicker. You'll be done before even Sam's or Costco sees your car.

Also, if you're going to use this deal, you should call your local store and get things scheduled for the weekend of 5/3 - 5/5.

I called and was transferred to a "centralized" tire & battery center representative. She checked my tire size and placed an order for me that I will pay for on my scheduled appointment on 5/3. She made the appointment for me, everything was pretty smooth. Highly recommend that approach.

That's how Sam's is now. They have an overseas call center setting up the appointments. Sometimes you might struggle understanding the person on the other side of the world, but I think it's better than the Tire Center employees never answering the phone at the store.

You have trouble reading. They call them tire certificates, which are an additional optional fee and go beyond what Sam's and Costco offer. And the fact remains it doesn't cost an additional $80-100 more to get the same protection. $80-$100 gets you better protection. You don't have to do that and can choose to stick with the same additional protection Sam's and Costco has. You at like you worked at Discount Tire and they fired you. Do something more productive with your life than camping a forum and spreading misinformation
I think this is correct. Both the sams and the standard dtc warranty are pro rated..

Certs are a dtc only thing and extra and not equal to the road hazard from sams or Walmart

Sounds like I struck a nerve. It's Friday, my casual day so mind your business and stay on topic to what I said. Bring some actual facts.

Do you even know what the tire certificate does from Discount Tires? Do you even know what comes included in the tire installation package from Sam's? Did you even compare the offering within that tire certificate from Discount Tires side by side with Sam's? Clearly sounds like you didn't, so here, let me help ya out buddy. I'll spell the letters out in all caps this time so maybe you can get it this time since you won't read for yourself.

Sam's Tire Installation Package - https://www.samsclub.com/p/tire-i...rt_product

Discount Tire's Tire Certificates - https://www.discounttire.com/certificates

I'm beginning to think you either just really can't read or won't take the time to discredit your own misinformed self. Tire certificates do NOT go beyond protection from Sam's or Costco's offering. It literally is the SAME. I didn't work at Discount Tires and I actually really like them and have bought/installed plenty of tires there for my vehicles over the years, including my family. However, what I have an issue with is you claiming something that is not factual in any sense whatsoever. Just spewing a bunch of "this is better blah blah blah" from your fingertips without any sense of doing the research yourself and finding out you're entirely wrong.

They both include:
  1. Road hazard damage
  2. Manufacturer defects
  3. Hassle-free protection for tires with depths no less than 3/32"

$80-100 does NOT get you any better protection, rather the SAME protection for MORE cost.

So you think because they call it a tire certificate it's any better? It literally is Road Hazard protection being added to the tires you buy from DT. You guys need to really read the fine prints of both.

Right from the certificate link I posted above in "How do certificates work?"

"If your tire fails due to a non-repairable road hazard or manufacturer defect"

That is the same thing Sam offers, lmao. I don't get you peeps sometimes. Just because they market the material in a different way than Sam's doesn't make it any better. I mean sure I like DT better and their technicians, but when these deals go on at Sam's they're a better value all around.

Perhaps it's you that cannot read.
The certs are non pro rated. The sams and dtc warranty included with install are. Sams does not offer a non pro rated road hazard.

Buying certificates is not required and it is kind of stupid to do so.

Road Hazard Protection*: Expands the workmanship and materials
warranty to include tire failure protection on a pro-rata basis for tire(s)
injured by a road hazard incurred in normal driving conditions

DTC-

FREE Prorated Road Hazard Protection
Our tires also come with FREE prorated road hazard coverage, meaning that we'll give you credit towards new tires if normal road hazards cause you to need replacement. We base the amount of credit you get on your old tire's remaining treadwear. And if you want extra peace of mind, ask about our Certificate for Repair, Refund, or Replacement.

Please, in your infinte wisdom, explain the difference.

You guys fight too much.

Has anyone tried to talk Americas tires into including the certs in the price matching?

Same here. Discount on tire price and free installation showed in cart. But confirmation shows regular price plus $80 install.
Emailed confirmation showed the correct discounts for me.

Okay so let me let you in on a little insight for Discount Tires certs since I do like them a lot and I have used them to great lengths in the past and have previously bought these. There are a couple things they don't mention when selling you this certificate.

1) they have no mention that these certificates will be on an actual pro-rated basis for AWD cars based on the amount of tread left, compared to standard 2wd vehicles
2) they have no mention that these certificates only follow the life of the tire itself, if you have to use the certificate to get a replacement you must but another certificate for that tire that was replaced

Also, Sam's will not prorate the cost of the tire within the first year of ownership if anything happens and usually if you're within the tread wear guidelines of the warranty you can talk with a manager who will usually waive the prorated amount and replace the tire for the $20 cost of installation alone. No repurchase of any tire warranty necessary either.

While slight differences show, it boils down to being one in the same and cost still being cheaper at Sam's even if you're prorated years down the line based on some tread wear.

I've been going to Sam's for tires for 8+ years. Nothing but great experiences. Never had long wait times like Costco and constantly waiving fees. Have fixed many tires for me for free even though I didn't purchase them there. Nothing but good things to say about them, although it could vary by location.

What happens if you have an AWD car and need to replace a tire? Will the certificates cover replacing all 4 tires? Because the tire guys always tell me, since your car is AWD, you gotta replace them all at the same time.

Not sure which one you go to but the ones here in North Carolina are ghetto as they can't be and once you try to match anything they always tried to switch you to something else of lesser quality.

One downside to Sam's is that they don't do alignments. I know a few Discount Tire locations are now doing them, but not all.
