Thanks, ordered. I had deal alert for this.

My 2010 or so Magnifica finally got to the point of no longer worth fixing. During these years,
It had daily use and kept going.

I hope this one will be as good.

I replaced a water pump $20,or so, a couple of years ago. Was an easy install for me.
This time the burr grinder unit finally went out. After a decade+ of abuse by dark roasts, not a surprise. I found one for 170, and could have fixed it, but not worth it on a 14 yr machine I paid 399 for back then.

Anyway my experience has been great with Magnificas.
I bet many of the insides are the same as my old one.

Two things worth mentioning imo:

Machines like these are more noisy than a drip coffee maker or Keurig. But then there are no quiet coffee grinders afaik. If you don't have a bedroom where someone needs to sleep nearby when coffee is made, it is no issue.

Second, depending on water, you have to descale these quite a bit. White vinegar is not as strong as proper descaling solution. However, you can buy 2 gallons for the price of a bottle of descale solution, and it worked fine for the last 8 years on my last Magnifica YMMV, if your water is full of minerals, you may need to stick with the real descaling solution.
There is zero taste residue with white vinegar. I am sure it isn't Manufacturer recommended but worked fine for me and our water.

Last tip. The machine discharges a bit of water as part of the startup and shutdown. If you keep a cup sitting under the spouts when you turn it on and off, or just have one sitting there, you have to clean the drip tray less often.
Are you really that complacent? I mean you aren't even asking if anyone here has personally used it. You're asking us to do exactly what you should...go to the item page and look at the reviews or just read the details of the deal where it literally tells you the review rating.
The reviews seem to be pretty interesting. Click the link lazy guy!

I have this machine, but with an auto froth. Extremely easy to use, clean, and maintain. Just have to find the perfect grind and strength combo for your roasted beans and it nails it every time.

Only gripe is that it does not have a froth only option.

My take is in general these automated machines are very convenient and are hard to beat. They take a lot of the guessing game out of your dosing and prepping of the puck. I have a high end fully manual grinder and machine and it's a pain. Seriously, after 6 months my wife told me I was tamping too hard and it finally started making decent shots. So espresso can be very difficult unless you have the machine do it for you or you put in the time to learn wasting a lot of coffee haha. 😂

I currently have a Philips 3200 superauto with manual frother. It makes ok espressos. Would this be an upgrade in espresso quality or are superautos pretty much all the same? Don't really need the auto frother and the manual machines are too much work/hassle.

Tried the Gaggia Classic Pro with a Niche grinder. Could never get it dialed in.

Any comparison to the breville line up?
I have both (the older magnifica and 870xl) and breville. The taste and crema of Breville is much better.

If you are new to automatics. You can never use oily beans, they will clog and even wreck the machine depending. Do research before buying the beans- and there are plenty of great options. Lavazza Super Crema seems to be popular for people here, no oil.

I have a Philips 3200 and I'm satisfied so far. Looking for a future upgrade soon. This machine looks comparable, right?

How are the reviews? Any good?

Its "regular" price had been $550 on Costco for the longest time. It looks like $450 is the new everyday price? Nothing indicative of a sale price.

I have the same question too. online does not give much info. wanted to get an opinion from folks who have used both
I can't speak for these but I love my Breville! We used to do Starbucks ALOT! But I have no urge to go now that I can do iced lattes at home that taste better than Starbucks.

There is a Eureka Mignon Silenzio Espresso Grinder which is remarkably quiet, but it's just a grinder, not an automatic espresso machine

There is no discount on this item and looks like it's a normal price on other sites too until I'm missing anything.

Does anyone know if any plastic part comes into play in end to end process when it makes the Latte?

What other sites has it for this normal price? So those without a Costco membership can get it as well.
