I cleared my browser and then launched hp, it popped up I did a Google search which had a link for the 20 off with email signup. The hp page took a minute and had a box that showed the offer. The actual welcome email took an hour or so to show up

Basic is web, iOS and Android only, but the poster said they had Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2021 also. Thus, I assume they have desktop program access, albeit with a version that is static in nature.
You can easily setup folder direction on 365 personal accounts too now, so it's a pretty good, simple (complicated backups often tend to not fully work) and inexpensive backup method for the Windows client masses.

As I said above, the 1 TB is not a benefit for me, thank you. As for backup, I copied my important stuff to OneDrive before getting this system that has Windows 11. Windows 11 has automatic support of OneDrive. My Windows 11 Documents folder is in my OneDrive. I can even use my OneDrive to do builds (compiles) in Visual Studio (that program for programmers) and I self-host a website locally (for personal use) that is in the OneDrive.
As for storage, Microsoft 365 Basic adds 100 GB to the storage I had. Other than that, OneDrive works the same with or without Microsoft 365 Basic.
I got Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2021 from GameSpot in October 2022, for something like $36 (available now for $70 apparently).
Careful. Alot of those "deals" are people carving up and over selling multiple activation keys (MAK). As the name implies they go by number of activations and tend to become invalid over time. I wouldn't expect that key to work on either a new system that you try to transfer over the key, or even reinstall in the future. you're basically paying money for a bootlegged key.
