If you compare the specs between the S6 and S9 FE then you will be happy with your S6. The key difference is the Super AMOLED in S6 vs TFT LCD display in S9 FE. Also, Qualcomm in S6 vs Exonys in the S9 FE. So the S9 FE is pretty much a downgrade but the downside is no more software/security updates for the S6.

I was able to replicate the deal but ran into some quirks. If I used my corp discount, I could no longer trade in a S6 Lite, only up to the S5, so it was more expensive. Also, by default, it adds in the book cover keyboard at 50% but when I went to checkout, it was out of stock and wouldn't let me place the order. But for a non-corp discount, no keyboard buy, I was able to buy the S9 FE for $99 after trade-in.

You think the s6 lite could handle the use case my daughter has?

Depends... I mean Genshin impact will run on my S6 lite 2020, but the limit of 4 gb ram and lack of longer term OS upgrades made me upgrade.

The S6 Lite trade in only works for the S9 FE 256GB model now. Final price after $250 trade in is $161.49 before tax.

Kind of what I was thinking. Probably worth the $ to upgrade so the tablet continues to run for several more years with updates.

I may play with the s6 lite 64GB I just ordered first, and see how it does before deciding to keep it. If it's decent, then might just return the S9 FE. Kind of need the 128 GB storage if my daughter has Genshin Impact on there though.
