If you compare the specs between the S6 and S9 FE then you will be happy with your S6. The key difference is the Super AMOLED in S6 vs TFT LCD display in S9 FE. Also, Qualcomm in S6 vs Exonys in the S9 FE. So the S9 FE is pretty much a downgrade but the downside is no more software/security updates for the S6.

I was able to replicate the deal but ran into some quirks. If I used my corp discount, I could no longer trade in a S6 Lite, only up to the S5, so it was more expensive. Also, by default, it adds in the book cover keyboard at 50% but when I went to checkout, it was out of stock and wouldn't let me place the order. But for a non-corp discount, no keyboard buy, I was able to buy the S9 FE for $99 after trade-in.

I'm doing the deal but let's be honest after my $200 s6 lite Slickdeal a couple years ago + this $100 I'll still be at $300 for the FE .. is that a deal idk but buy now ask questions later

Just a heads-up, if you want to trade in the S7 FE instead of the S6, you can bump the S9 FE's model over to the 8GB version for $119 after trade.

It didn't seem to stack with educational credit unless I bumped it over to the S9 FE+ model.

Thank you for convincing me to stay with my S6 Lite 2022. If the CPU is going to be a downgrade, I rather stay the course with the AMOLED and 3.5 jack vs paying 99 not much of an upgrade if it one.

No, they're talking about the regular S6 not the Lite version. The S9FE is faster than the S6 Lite. It's worth the upgrade since it's faster, more memory, and longer updates. Plus your S6 Lite is probably out of warranty.

Most everything you said is correct, but the S9 FE cannot output video via its USB-C port. That's one of the most significant downgrade compared to the S7 FE.

It's all a matter of what you do with it - for the vast majority of users, the Samsung tablets and phones are excellent, but if you're someone who loads alternate firmware, and usually boot unlocks and/or "roots" all my devices, Samsung make their Knox-capable products burn the Knox chip out in most of those scenarios, so I'm not buying their products for me any longer, unless it's a flea-market or OG slickdeal, like an 85% off pricing mistake, etc.
Unless your S6 isn't doing what you want to do, or some new feature's needed, enjoying it - it's great. If you're ready for something fresh and new, then think of what features you need, whether you want to stay with Android, and what level of support you need/like. Google and Lenovo arguably have decent Android tablets, and I like the Oneplus tablet (on paper, haven't used). If you want to go iOS, Apple has everything from, Mini and Air, right up through iPad Pro, which are all pretty much excellent. You could even go the tiny, "convertible" laptop/tablet, if you want full-horsepower Windows, with Lenovo, Microsoft, and others having some neat units.
For a Samsung Android tablet alternative, I'd probably look at Google, OnePlus, or Lenovo, who have support, and fairly recent models available.
