Grabbed one of these on sale 3yrs ago direct from sofirn for $25, also has the 77 outdoor printed on it.I've used it for a total of about 20 weekend camping trips. The red light is so useful for not attracting insects at night. The mount has held up and still nice and tight. It's been rained on and the o-rings have held up. One charge is enough to last me just about the entire weekend if I don't use the brightest setting.

If it's something you're going to use regularly and you can afford to spend a bit more, I might recommend a more reputable manufacturer like Fenix. I use their HM60R [fenixlighting.com] which is really nice - great build quality, and in addition to the main beam being very bright, it's got a nice neutral/even flood lamp and a red LED for getting around at night without ruining night vision. Top head strap can be removed and that's how I use it all the time.

They also have a removable 18650 cell battery (and come with a nice 3400mAh cell) and the onboard USB-C charging can charge all normal protected 18650 batteries. Avoid proprietary batteries like the plague!
Dude you are comparing an $80 headlamp to an $18 headlamp. It better be better for that price

I've dealt with enough cheap Chinese electronics that are built like they're disposable & I don't like having to throw away stuff I bought that just suddenly/inexplicably stops working.

I know they're not ALL bad... but I don't mind paying more for a reputable brand when I know I'm going to get a long-lasting product that was designed/manufactured well, with warranty support, and not made with the absolute cheapest/flakiest components they could source. Considering that my other nice (older) headlamp is going on 10 years now, $70-80 doesn't sound too bad at all, IMO.

Lastly, a lot of cheap lights have garbage/frustrating "UI" for their different modes that doesn't really jive well with real-world use - no one wants a surprise strobe while just trying to get around in the dark.

Purchased one. I use a headlamp every evening on my rounds to do animal chores. I've always used the cheapy cheap headlamps. Last night I was thinking to myself that it was time to purchase some new lights since I could barely make it through one night on a single charge with my current headlamp, with it beginning to dim at the end of my chores. I'm in the market for a very bright rechargeable headlamp that will last me a few hours but doesn't weigh a lot and doesn't have another strap that goes from your forehead, over the top and to the back of the head. I hate that extra strap! Just the regular strap that encircles your head is plenty, or it should be. If more is needed, the light is probably too heavy to wear for any significant amount of time anyways. Excited to try this light when it arrives on Saturday. Thank you for sharing this deal!
If you don't need the red light, this one will be twice as bright. I have been happy with it. https://www.sofirnlight.com/colle...header_1.1

Never heard of 77outdoor.
Just Sofirn. I own two and really like them. I'm debating buying a third since mine are older and don't have USB-C charging. Great lights, with Sofirn battery included. Every Sofirn light I've tested has met its specs for lumens and battery capacity.

(Un)officially "supported" by sofirn…but I'm pretty damn sure they are made in the same factories.

The Sofirn D25 is a great headlamp. I've had one for years.
I don't like the red LED on this one, and prefer the version that uses two high-CRI emitters.
All versions are always cheaper at aliexpress, and about the same price as this deal at Sofirn's website.

Here's the same red+white one for $15+ship, or free ship over $29:

Here's the high-CRI version. $18 with code:

This headlamp uses standard removable 18650s and has a built-in charger.
I'm not sure about the Amazon version, but all the ones Sofirn sells on their website are USB-C now. Older versions were USB micro.

I've had Sofirn headlamps for over 10 years. Not a single one has ever failed despite dropping them on the ground and even crashing my bicycle.
Fenix are well-made, but they cost 4-5x as much and my Sofirns have been no less reliable.

i have the d25s ancd while it is a great headlamp, these lights are all the same... the weakness is the plastic mount between the light body and the strap. plan on it breaking and buy a replacement, and then plan on that replacement breaking and that one.

i have a couple of both. no real preference. i wouldnt hesitate to buy more of either style. if i was going with that style i would go with the Sofirn HS40. sofirn has a bit better track record.
I've never broken a single plastic mount in nearly 10 years, despite dropping them on the ground uncountable times and even crashing my bicycle wearing them. I'm not sure what you're doing, but I'm a bit scared to find out!

ive had the first ones i bought since the first version of these came out. idk. its been forever. and I use my headlamp(s) literally every single day. none of them have broken from a single incident/impact/abuse, they just get brittle over time at which point they break easily. ive given them as gifts to family members and a few friends have purchased them. its a common theme, and its a known thing on the budget light forums, and why they sell replacements. the little stops that stop it from rotating freely also get worn down and they begin to rotate freely.

Its not a big deal... they are cheap little headlamps that you can get for $18 on amazon, or $12 on aliexpress. its not that shocking and it is something i deal with, and i buy a few replacements at a time for a few bucks per. i just wish i could find a rubberized mount for them similar to what the sofrin hs40 comes with as they are indestructible.

Hey, y'all. FYI, it's 4:40 p.m. Arizona time and I just tried the promo code and it worked and showed a $12 discount, for the code and the 10% coupon together. If there are any issues with the code working, I'm not sure what that would be about; but, hopefully, it will still work, for those of you, who may still want to buy one.

Also, I tried the code with both of the headlamps and it added the discount, for both models. So, hopefully, things are again working smoothly.
