PSA if you try buying this through FB marketplace.

On Facebook marketplace, there is a scam going around with this coffee model. I got scammed by it 2 months ago and I still see a ton of fake listings. The scam is the seller sends your item to the wrong address intentionally and blocks you. Refunds on FB need you to send the seller a message, so they abuse this loophole and FB support doesn't help. Only way out of this is credit card chargeback.

You don't need to buy a $160 grinder for spices. I have a cheap $20 (Hamilton Beach) one and it's more than enough. I come from a culture that uses a lot of spices in cooking btw.

I don't own it yet, but from the reviews I've read it can do anything from espresso to regular drip coffee. There should be a knob on the side to adjust grind size with the smaller grind sizes being used for espresso.

Yes, this model is supposed to have additional settings for fine grinding. The grinder is adjusted by rotating the hopper. The knob on the side is for turning the unit on & off. I just bought the cheaper version which I've been very happy with for pour over/drip coffee.

I've owned this grinder. It's a pretty good all around grinder that can handle espresso.

Yes, the ESP in the name stands for espresso.

Yep just ordered one. Nice deal for the ESP, a very versatile entry grinder. Returning my DF54. Thanks OP.

The Breville BCG400SIL Dose Control is only $110. It constantly goes in and out of stock because it's so much cheaper. I would actually prefer it to the SGP because there's less to go wrong, and none of the additional digital functions would be valuable to me.
it seems the ESP gives a more precise and consistent grind for espresso than the SGP from what i read, so going to give it a shot. many recommend the entry Eureka espresso grinder but it's double the price, maybe the next upgrade.

40% higher price, can't do coarse grinds, excessive static and plastic cup causes big mess, and chute gets jammed up easily. Upsides of DF54 are that it's much quieter, better build quality, and better grind consistency. Cheers.

I think that Breville bundles this grinder with the bambino plus on their site as an option.

DF54 can absolutely do coarse grinds. The only thing that "limits" the DF54 is the single dose workflow

I bought a Breville sgp at the same time as my in-laws and both broke just after a year of use. I've been using this one for longer and no problems. Motor seems stronger than the breville.
