There's a recently released sparkly silver Diamond Anniversary Edition with a lifetime warranty that's limited to 2000 pieces but that's the only "new" one I've seen. This one just has the thermal carafe instead of the glass carafe and warming plate.

Worth replacing the glass carafe version with this one? I got the glass carafe one for $200 through another SD awhile back.

I've heard good things about these machines. I'd bite, but my Zojirushi keeps chugging along, heading for its sixth birthday. It would be hard to move to a machine without a timer also. Are the coffee purists down on timers?

That said I have had to replace the plastic reservoir, the plastic basket, and the plastic basket lid due to them being prone to breakage and warping. They are not cheap replacements either.

I bought a used older model of this on FB Marketplace for like 80$. Its freaking amazing! For anyone wondering why the cost so much, its the technology they use in the heating elements and time to boil. I out fridge cold water in and its brewing within 30 seconds
