The last time I bought these from Amazon half of them were melted The other half were smushed I would probably pay a little more and buy them from Walmart or I could see what they look like

What time of year were they purchased? I am going to take a gamble and get it. I like when the inside malt part melts in my mouth. 👄 💦

I had no issues the last I bought these. It was about six months ago. Not one box was melted. I live in Florida.

Today I learned that ~100,000 lac bugs die to produce ~1 pound of shellac flakes, which are combined with alcohol to make confectioner's glaze

Same experience here. Nowadays it's my nephew & nieces who leave these as leftover Halloween candies. It's amazing that people actually buy these standalone.

Don't go to a local candy/chocolate shop and get chocolate malt balls unless you want Whoppers ruined for you. Omigish, so good. Can't go back.

Speaking of memories, I had some fond ones as well on these. As kids, I used to buy them in the quart sized milk containers for like $1. They weren't the best candies around but they were okay and they were cheap. Sort of a poor kid's "chocolate".

Must have eaten dozens of those boxes over a summer and got sick of them. Occasionally, I still get a box for the memories.
