Following the trend of target running discounts this week, found Sony Bravia X77L 65" inch at the local target store (Williamsville, NY) for 50% clearance. Normally priced at 689.99
They need room for new models being stocked. They already made their money on the amount sold already and these are just extra inventory for what would be last years models.
I picked up the last one at the Hilldale location in Madison yesterday. They had a bunch of other TV's on clearance as well including most of the displays for 50% off or more.
It's a nice TV for the money. I didn't really feel like dropping a grand or more on something higher end. It's not super thin like some tv's but it has a good picture and isn't too bad for motion (like sports). For the price paid I'm happy.

I wish I still lived in Madison! I moved out! Great city.
Hi guys, just found the 55 for 295 in my local Target. I want to get this for my in-laws as they have plasma 50inch TV for 2005 they want to replace. I assume this is a solid deal? I don't think they care about picture quality too much. Also, when does Target do their weekly price changes? I'm debating o see if it goes cheaper tomorrow on Sunday. Thanks!

Clearance old models. Make space for new models

I mean you check the price tag in store? You ask Target person to scan the item? You bring the bar code to the price checker and scan yourself?

Very YMMV. I imagine there all gone, but you might find a one armed midget somewhere..
Just found one yesterday in Grimes, Iowa. Not all gone apparently.
