If this is a consular ship, where is the ambassador?

Agreed - plus the head of the Tantive looks oddly proportioned (too small?) for the rest of the body. Pity, because I love the size for display.

Yes I noticed that too, it is a nice looking kit until you look at it for a long time.

You're right on target, it's way too small.

LEGO store has this for $79.99, but will have gift with purchase event starting May 1 for Star Wars Weekend. (May the 4th be with you)

For some, this may be a better deal. YMMV

This looks about the same size as the decent X-Wing sets. Definitely needs to be bigger. I get it that it's nice for a display, but it is too big of a ship to be scaled down like this with lego.

The original Tantive IV set was 1,768 pieces and fairly impressive. No stand was included, but fairly easy to get one or MOC one up yourself. While larger, it is not huge though it will be tough to find a true Lego version at a reasonable price now. I have been tempted by this new version, but not overly fond of the appearance in general so will likely hold off until/if it drops a bit in price.

I don't think any of us fellow geeks and nerds would judge you if you wanted to buy this and play with it yourself.

There's a big kid in all of us.
