I'm not following or I may be extremely tired but...
What exact product are you price matching to Amazon to get $15?
yup. we all know that. just question about the legal issues related to undersell these "government union" items. they overprinted these stamps way too much that they havent sold out their 2020 stamps yet.
is there a law preventing them for selling the "government" items below cost?
Is there a law preventing anyone from selling them at MORE? Selling stamps at a higher price
The Postal Service sells stamps at face value to everyone. We have no control over the pricing policies of private entrepreneurs, companies or agencies who resell our products. A charge at a higher price is most likely imposed to earn a return on their investment of capital and effort. The prices they charge are, no doubt, established on the basis of their needs and market evaluations.
Customers may avoid paying more than the stated value for First-Class Mail postage by purchasing stamps at their Post Office, through Stamps By Mail, phone, online, Automated Postal Centers and retail outlets that are involved with our consignment programs or from one of the many postal stores.
Watch for a difference in online vs in store price. For me, logged into my account, the price for the AA 16 pack is 17.89 as listed above but, in store it is 21.79. if it is a matter of getting 100% back in rewards, I guess I'd rather have a bigger rather than smaller reimbursement. I also took in 10 cartridges and, as it is the last day of the month, I may do the same thing all over again, tomorrow. (limit 10 recycled cartridges/month with a $10.00 purchase).

thanks. not really answer my question but its interesting to know.
cuz i got ton of these stamps from this OD ink recycling program. but couldnt resell any. nobody interested on craiglist or offerup. sometimes, they even removed my listings for some reasons. so i thought maybe it could be because i was listing them below cost.
These are getting overpriced. Use coupons or PM to reduce up front cost and order online for pickup to get CB. They tend to leak even unopened after 5-6 yrs. I had flashlight, mice and keyboards destroyed by them. The only reason for me to buy them is to get recycling credit. The old quantum and optinum don't leak and guess what, they were discontinued.

Although you get 100% back in rewards either way, you only get back the paid amount minus tax. So, for me, its better to pricematch and pay lower out of pocket up front and get reimbursed because the extra i pay for tax would be lower. i know it may be minimal but every bit counts

Yes the disparity on batteries is significant. They do that on other in-store items too, I assume to extract max dollars from their core "I need this right now" shoppers.

Same here, I'm in an area with stupidly onerous 10% sales tax, plus I don't want any extra OD Rewards to figure out what to do with. I'm only giving them OOP money for the opportunity to exchange 10 nasty ink cartridges for $20.
On the website, look for "rewards offers". The offers change several times a month. Bateries one week, gift cards the next or a few 50% back in rewards on breakroom, tp, paper towles. This week it is the 100% back on bateries. If you PM what ever the offer is you really are not loosing anything.
If you PM it you are getting it for the right price and get a store credit for your effort. This is the most popular offer they have for the guys who recycle ink and toner. I have done the 20% back on $100 gift cards, but beware, Gift cards and stamps do not count on the $10/month spend required to recycle ink/toner at $2 per cartridge. Bateries and breakroom supplies do count. If you plan to recycle this month, I would buy the bateries this week. There has been a 5 or 6 week period between the offer, so when you see it take it.
I have bought the bateries on line on a Saturday and picked them up in the store days later and got the rewards.too, it is just harder to pm on line, and I have 10 to recycle all ready to go when I have time on Saturday.
I don't get how this deal works other than I just buy it and see it is specifying a rewards account in checkout... then I can use that later as cash within OfficeDepot?

Rarely is it notated on the individual product page.
