This stuff is really solid, but imo the rain-x that comes in the standard bottle is still the king for value and performance. If you didn't know what you had, you'd be hard pressed to spot the difference between Griots and Rain-X (bottle version)
Definitely beats the rain-x in the spray bottle, and absolutely avoid the new rain-x in the aerosol can, it's so watered down, major disappointment

How does it compare to rain x or other products?
I wanted to know the same. From my research:
This compares favorably to rain-x.
Using wipers will smear/remove both products.
Aquapel seems to be the standout competitor, it appears to be more expensive and more difficult to apply, but gives better results.

This or Rain-X for glass shower? Basically same price (rain-x a tad bit cheaper).
I pit this on my shower door, the week after it was installed. It works great, and after 1.5 years, still holding on. We do squeegee it after every use, though.
I use this on my Model 3 and its lasted nearly four years. I haven't reapplied it since. Water still beads and hust falls off.
I do not use it on my windshield, after two tries, I couldn't get all of the high points removed and my wipers skipped and squeaked. I just use Rain-X wiper fluid and wipers, and that combo works well.
I've found standard "ceramic" spray and wax products do the same without being a PITA to remove. I only use it in side windows and back up camera though
