Late reply but throwing this out there, The Anker Soundcore Q20/Q20i were originally released in 2018/2019 as a direct competitor to Bose noise-cancelling QC35s. I have both these and the Bose QC35 and I will say, the bass boost on these is a much richer listening experience, but the overall fidelity of Bose is magnitudes better. The noise-cancelling on the Bose feels like a $400 pair of headphones. The noise-cancelling on these feels like a $300 pair of headphones and honestly has no right to be so good on a $40 pair of headphones. After 4 year, the earpads are still going strong, the headphones only have to be charged every other trip (8 hours of use between cars/planes/trains per trip) and they seamlessly pair with any device I've attempted, a much simpler process than the Bose.
All in all, a HARD 8.5/10, on a scale of 0-10 with the Bose QC35 coming in just short of 10 due to the price, but still top of the list. Bose QC35 are $235 on refurb/sale. These Anker Soundcore Q20s are $40 for a very similar experience. These are your first pair of noise cancelling headphones and when the battery or quality or usability fails, you'll upgrade to the Bose. Enjoy!

thanks, ur post was timeLY.
i am harsh on headphones---they seldom last 2 years so $100s of dollars on headphones are out.
Anker Soundcore Q20/Q20i 'sounds' even better at $40.

Happy to help! I'm getting a first pair for an uncle looking for easy use and worthwhile active noise-cancelling and I immediately returned to these. Funny, my old pair says Anker but I guess Anker may have actually tried breaking out the Soundcore line into the brand with Anker reverting to mfg.
