Mandatory buy separate espresso machine and grinder comment. I love my Bambino. I have had success with my sister's Express. People say the grinder will limit folks using more demanding beans and roasts or wanting to dial in further.

Some of the higher end Breville's have a better grinder with more settings. The Barista doesn't though.

This unit is widely regarded as a good entry level toe dip into espresso land without the need to buy another grinder.

Breville did a good job with the express. Again. Entry level. (To belay some of the espresso trolls)

I have this unit and it does a very decent job. Had fun dialing it in and now it's a more than weekly treat.

Do you have the Bambino or the Bambino Plus? Debating on which to get and to see if the plus is worth the extra $100.

I've used both. You definitely want the Bambino Plus. Somehow it isn't commonly mentioned but the Bambino has a super cheap aluminum portafilter and plastic tamper making it feel like a toy. The automatic milk frothing on the Bambino Plus is also super useful because you can just walk away from it when you're in a rush in the morning.

I have the regular. I agree with shadowx, get the Plus if the price is right. I mostly do Americanos so wasn't concerned about auto frothing. But the 3 way valve would be nice.

I have the regular and had upgraded to a bottomless portafilter and better basket. But agree, Plus is the way to go.
