the original series ends abruptly at 25 episodes. its supposed to continue with a new story line but that never happened with this original series. there a few "new" series but I never followed those after trying out a few episodes. then there are the full-length movies that are decent since they used a lot of the original voice actors but lacked the raw feel of the original tv series. one of my favorites anime series. characters, english voice actors, story, soundtrack, the feels were great. definitely a great series to re-watch every couple years.
The creator Kentaro Miura died in 2021 so we probably wont be seeing any more berserk.

I've never watched or read Berserk but have heard great things. I also thought it was a very long running series, but it looks like it's only 25 episodes? Is that right?
As other has stated this is the original series that only covers "the Golden Age" story arc. It's amazing and one of my favorite animes. Just know you will never see this story conclude in anime form, maybe not even manga form. The reboot series was at first 3 movies that retell the "Golden Age" arc with questionable animation. Then that continues into a 2 season series that also abruptly ends with even more questionable animation. So the new stuff does get further and have some bad ass stuff you really need to be into Berserk to put up with how bad it looks. Apparently it was just cheaper to do this and it would be too expensive to do this long a story the normal way. The problem is no one liked it and the series just stopped.
Also, even though the creator died there are still plans to continue the manga and finish it. Mainly from his notes and what he's said about the ending. Apparently it's all been planned out from the beginning. Who knows if it will happen though.
Man o man. I was hoping Berserk had a new season. The last episode kept making me want more. Too bad the franchise never continued but was remade instead more than a decade later. A movie will be awesome but needs the right directors not money hungry jabronis
Yes! Original berserk. I remember catching it on weekend morning on sci-fi in late 90s. They had this, vampire hunter D, and Lodoss wars on rotation. Was the most epic of times.
I bought this off of Amazon on a whim and watched it last month.
I've never read a manga before and have maybe watched a total of 25-30 hours of anime total in my life. I just recognized the name because it's one of those series I've hear people talk about frequently (not to mention all the Guts build in Souls games).
I enjoyed it so much that I bough all 14 volumes of the deluxe edition of the manga. It's great even if you're not usually into anime/manga.

His best friend and his team are still releasing manga episodes. I don't know if it will give us an ending at least.
The real strugglers are those who have been following it for decades and waiting an eternity for a single new chapter only to have the creator die in the end. Doubtful it will ever be finished, but its impact is eternal.
