If you loved the Justified series,
...pretend this never happened. Just go rewatch Justified.
It's wildly different/inferior.
it's also available streaming on Hulu if you want to see for yourself.

No… actually people hate it because it's terrible. His love interests aren't believable. The bad guy is a joke. And the plot is boring. I watched until episode 6 and I don't think he'd even drawn his gun once.

And while you mentioned the 91% from critics in Rotten Tomatoes, you failed to mention it only has a 46% from audiences. It's awful.

At $5, it's worth the 7 or so hours of entertainment it provides.

It's a standalone series that just happens to have familiar characters.

If you're begrudgingly comparing it to the original, I have a feeling you're living a little too vicariously through the characters.

This wasn't a perfect mini-series, but it was nice checking in with Raylan. I've always enjoyed the style of writing and supporting characters. My biggest nit was, dude, put on some pants already!

The Graham Yost, the original showrunner did not have anything to do with this reboot.

Timothy casting his own daughter in this show was just one of the many huge casting mistakes.
I doubt Vivian Olyphant will ever appear on-screen anywhere again.

I really enjoyed the original Justified and have rewatched every episode at least a couple times. This season is terrible and has nothing to do with the old except a few quick cameos. It's bad.

It's like watching Giancarlo Esposito in Breaking Bad and then trying to watch him now in Parish. Just cringe and sad.

You are 100000% correct - other than the last half of the very last episode this was embarrasing to the "Justified" name.

Original series is definitely top 25 greatest series - the writing and characters are top notch. Graham Yost is a master.

Let's be honest. His daughter wasn't even close to the worst part of the show. It is to the point where I can't say it was her and not the writing/directing. The main bad guy would have lasted all of 5 minutes in Harlan. Boyd would have shot him and told Raylan he deserved a thank you for helping out.

This,,,,,,,,this........and more of this. I stopped midway episode 2. Trash, despicable, irrational adaptation......it only serves to taint a timeless classic.

People hating just to hate. Justified: City Primeval is solid. Timothy Olyphant is back and remains impressive as an actor. The plot is again based on an Elmore Leonard novel. And it has a 91% score on Rotten Tomatoes (take that FWIW). Is it better than the original? No. Is it better than Paul Blart: Mall Cop 3? Absolutely.
I reported you for being a clear troll........or a moron with no taste. Whichever, dunzo.

Problem is, this is more like a spinoff of the original series. As a standalone series I didn't think it was that bad. Rating it as the latest season of the original series it doesn't hold up well.
Also, it didn't take place in Harlan !

Exactly! It's a different Elmore Leonard novel featuring a completely different character that they just kind of forced Raylan Givens into. It'd be like if they made a Justified: Out of Sight mini-series where Boyd Crowder played Jack Foley. I'd still watch it. I'd still enjoy it. But it wouldn't be consistent with the original "Fire in the Hole" characters from the original series.
