Found it thanks. Is the veriff step necessary? How safe is it?
Yes port number & verifying is necessary to get deal. (Details are on Total website)
Total requires verification to get new line.

I was able to get a third-party number to work but stuck on the verification page. How long does verification take?

Are you on a laptop or desktop? Phone doesn't seem to work.

I was thinking the same thing, it's definitely a gamble but come Black Friday these could be worth $500-$600 as a trade-in towards newer Android phones like they did with the Pixel 7 last year.
Don't think a Verizon sim is gonna work on a Total locked phone.

Just to be sure, I can take the phone outside U.S.A. within few days in the locked state after sending request to unlock before it is actually unlocked. Right?
Yes, as long as it gets activated in the US first.

Can anyone confirm this? I've had Xfinity mobile phones that work seamlessly with verizon sim. I ported a Tracfone number to Total and worked within minutes even though when I signed up, I used my GV number but decided it's too valuable to port out and back in with possibility of losing it.

I am hoping to gift this after activation to a family member for mother's day gift and she's on Verizon. Does she really need to wait until the 60 days unlock to use it with Verizon postpaid?

**UPDATE: Confirmed it doesn't work with a Verizon prepaid SIM card inserted. It states the sim is incompatible with the phone so I guess to use it, will need 60 days to unlock. I recall it's an automatic process with Tracfone and VZ prepaid phones, is this also automatic unlock? TIA

Yes, it's locked to Total for 60 days just like Tracfone and Straight Talk are locked for 60 days. No way around it. iPhones will automatically unlock.

Thanks, for iPhones it's automatically unlocked after 60 days right? I rem for Android, you have to go to Tracfone unlock portal and submit it, but I thought for iPhone it's automatic?

I see an "add eSIM" option on the phone. Has anyone tried it with an eSIM carrier to see if the phone will accept it while still having the Total SIM inserted?

So does this unlock without paying for a second month of service? Is it phone+1mo OOP or phone+2mo OOP?

Why pay $100+$50 or $100+$50+$50 if I can get an iPhone 12 from Metro for $140?

Because Metro unlock takes 6 months but choice is yours.

Also it's $100 OOP.

You're right, $50 for phone and $50 for first month. I'll correct that.

So you can just not pay for month 2 and the phone will still unlock? Not a bad offer for $100 OOP if that's the case.

Nothing yet from Total -- got GV email that number ported away and the line shows active in Total online account

FreeCarrierLookup still shows BANDWIDTH COM so I think my number port still needs time to fully settle (guessing by tomorrow) -- haven't opened phone or inserted the sim yet (I'll do that later)

Worked for me -- had existing line from 2 weeks ago and added a new line from online account for $30

Make sure 1st line is fully activated and ported over -- might have to wait a few days if its a GV port for 1st line
You were able to port your GV number all online?

I don't get why Total wants me to call them- they're saying they couldn't verify some info even though I followed what the wiki here says.
