Sorry if this has already been addressed. I got the phone in yesterday, unlocked the Google Voice number, and started the port. On totals website it says in progress, on Google Voice the option to lock the number back has disappeared.

I was planning to just wait and see, however it turns out that I missed a call from Total last night but they didn't leave a voicemail.

I called them back, waited on hold for a while, eventually talked to someone and they said they'd need to transfer me. While waiting for someone else to pick up the call dropped.

Just wondering if I need to try calling back or if it will likely finish on its own after a few days and I can just wait it out?
The call was likely just to tell you when the port will happen. Most of us received a call like that. Most likely the port will go through today. If not then Monday for sure.

So finally was able to add my phone to an account (had to create a new one and that was a mission) but as the account is added and no payment is listed it should stop working in 30 days and then unlock 30 days after that correct?

I guess I'll have to look at the fine print and do the math. I did the referral which got me 5000 points and added a line which netted me another 5000 points.

Hoping to use them to extend line#1 at least for 2 more months.

How about switching to lesser plan in month#2 for a line in case I need to spend money or letting a line hang one without renewal for a few days to hit the days mark? I hate to lose the 10000 points
You can certainly change to a lesser plan, you can look at the terms on points, if the line is not active you lose the points.

I checked the eligibility for a GV number which I got yesterday only and it Tpv is supposed to send a code. I tried it couple times and it never received any code. I tried from a regular phone and got the text as an email on the GV account. Did anyone else have this situation where you don't get the code when checking eligibility. Sorry if it's a repeat question. Thanks so much.

When you receive the phone and start the activation process online, it will give you two options. "Keep my phone number" or "get new number". You can just choose get new number and the next step will ask you something like turn phone off the back on again. Once you finalize activation steps online. Restart the phone with the Sim card in itand give it a few minutes (after theial setup). You'll soon see the signal bars refresh and you'll be all set with a new number. Then text Unlock to 611611 (might have to do it twice) and you'll get a text telling you your unlock date. Remember, the, as stated in the wiki, the text is showing direct information from the Apple serversyou'll be all set after that.
can I not port over the GV# and just get a new phone number instead? thanks

That's exactly what he's telling you. Try it and report back.

I recieved the phone and went through the activation/porting process yesterday. Today, the number show that it has been ported over but the online account still shows the line inactive. I have also tried making a call, but it does not go through. Any one else encounter this? Thanks in advance.
If its a GV port then it might take a few hrs or overnight for port to fully settle after GV sends email that your number ported away so wait it out

If the number you enter doesn't get a code then Total's system doesn't think that the number is eligible so you'll need to use another number to get the code just to place the order

During activation you can enter any number for porting (its not tied to the number you entered during checkout) -- some people say they had no problem selecting a new number during activation (not porting a number at all) and some people got error that they had to port a number in order to activate

Hi Experts,

Can we trade without activating the number, or can we proceed directly with trading using any plan that offers a $600-$800 discount for trading for iPhone 15?
What are the consequences of not activating the number before trading?

No problem. Just trade the phone. Keep the box and cable.

Thanks. I was thinking of this. Enrolling in rewards and earning the 11000 points are sweet which could add a couple of months of free additional service.

Will look into options/ideas to maximize that.

It took 2-4 days since it was a weekend for my 1st line. Give it a few days.

Transferred one more line today. Still waiting.
Second line will activate 3 more days from today. Got a VM on my GV number.

Also got the 5000 points for adding a new line in the rewards. Now up to 11000 rewards points.

I tried using Google voice to get this deal but I keep getting "We couldn't validate your number at this moment, please try again later." is there any workaround or other alternative?
