FYI it's also available at Canon.com for this price.
This means you should be able to get it for ~$1,599 if you have another old Canon camera and call 1-866-443-8002 and purchase it through their upgrade program.
I did this on the $1,799 refurb deal back in March and got 10% off which worked out to ~$1,619. They stated that I just need a serial number and they didn't require me to return the older camera.
My understanding is you get 10% off for a refurb item , and 20% off for a new item, which would make this even a better price than the refurb deal in March. I'm tempted to buy another lol.
Additionally, the R6 Mark II w/ the RF24-105mm F4-7.1 IS STM Lens Kit is also on sale for $2,299. So if you did the upgrade w/ that package it would be ~$1,839
Finally, I didn't take advantage of this, but I remember someone mentioning that they also got the discount on EF-EOS R adapter that they purchased with the camera. YMMV on this.
I'm sure you all know but there are no Tamron or Sigma lenses for Canon FF. Not only are those lens stellar but they are more affordable than Canon lenses. That was the only thing preventing me from buying this camera.

Greentoe policy doesnt allow me to disclose that info lol. Never had an issues from them though. They're in the Penn st.
My Greentoe experiences from February of this year:
R7 kit with the RF-S18-150 lens $1600
RF lens adapter with control ring $170
RF 100-400 F6.6-8 $510
RF 800 F11 $745
Extender RF 1.4x $430
All pieces new, full warranty, all shipped free, no tax at point of sale. 2 of the 5 purchases shipped after some gentle email prodding; the other 3 were timely.
Can we just use the adapter for the older EF lenses I already have?
I have the adaptor on EF lenes, like the 50mm 1.2, 24-70, 70-200, all worked well and it was better than they were on my 6D2 and 5D3.
One thing I notice is that at the max FPS, 30-40 fps, the AF is slower with the EF lens. With RF lens AF was spot on even at those FPS.
Unless you need extreme FPS, EF lens works more than great!!

Great tip. I just called Canon and got the R6 Mark II for $1,599 when I gave them the serial number for my 14-year-old Canon 7D, which I don't even need to send them! Added the adapter with the control ring for $169. Total with taxes came out to $1,926.21.
Looks like I can get $150-200 for my 7D on eBay to shave a little more off the price. Thanks!

I just called in to place an order. I am also returning my last order of the refurbished one. It was $1,619 for the refurbished one and the new one is $1,599 before taxes. Cheapter and better.
I have to pay return shipping though. Should come out even with my refurbished purchase.

Yeah, I use Canon EF with my R6 mkii. It works well - maybe even a little better than on DSLR bodies.
I have read numerous articles that Sigma/Tamron lenses work the same way too. There are some lenses that require a firmware update for certain situation, but for most lenses they work as-is. You can do that firmware update yourself if you have their USB docks (about $50), or you can take the lens to one of their service centers if there is one nearby. I am considering a couple of sigma/tamron myself.
Is this a better camera compared to the Nikon z6ii and Sony a7iii?
Nikon Z6II will be better if you are doing mostly Photography.. If you need all in one, doing both Videography&Photo, then Canon R6mkii will be your best all-in-one.
