Appliances are full of horrible experiences. For one reason or another, bad experiences with appliances piss people off more than most other categories. Perhaps at one time it was justifiable since they used to cost much more, relative to income etc.

Fast forward to 2024, and a $600 appliance continues the Americana tradition of expecting major appliances to last generations, or even outlast our own life!. However, they don't cost multiple paychecks anymore, but we love to hate them, and also love to brag when we have a dishwasher, dryer, or fridge that lasts decades.

Furthermore, appliances are one of those things we forget the most, when they work. Unlike cell phones, computers, etc, which cost so much more and we expect them to become obsolete, consumers are more lenient, when they actually shouldn't be.

How many flagship phones have you owned in the last 10 years? How much out of pocket on spent on them? Now, the same question for a washer/dryer? Exactly...

I've had Samsung appliances for 20 years, and never an issue. My GE fridge? Horrible. Does that mean GE is bad? No.

What a BS post.

People don't 'hate every appliance company' they've just learned to avoid Samsung through the pain and suffering of dealing with crappy broken appliances that ruin your food or clothes, and then you have to get these huge things out of your home.

https://topclassactions.com/lawsu...%20clothes.

we're currently talking to samsung about this because the dryer in the house we moved into is one of these pieces of crap and the drum is breaking.....one shirt started on fire because the corner where drum is breaking caused the shirt to stay in place whilst the drum kept moving and friction burned it

yeah, no. betwixt this and their crappy azz refrigerators, eff no to Samsung

Wish they had a similar deal for dryer as well. I am looking for a washer and dryer set.
They do have the same deal, $1204.16 all in for the forest green washer and dryer.

The Samsung shop app SUCKS. I was able to get the washer and dryer at the discounted price in the app, got all the way to the final checkout page only to be told delivery was not available in my zip code. I chatted with a rep who told me there were local restrictions in place for the delivery of the dryer. I told the rep it didn't make sense and wasted an hour of my time as they looked into it to be told that it was out of stock in my zip code (even though it showed available).

I tried a few times over the next couple of days and it did finally go through. Delivery date at the end of July though. My current washer is on its last leg so hoping it can hold on for a bit longer

It is and odd system. I ran into something similar but then it offered next week. I had to adjust out for two weeks due to being on vacation.

Is the deal still available? I logged in through EPP but don't see additional discounts. Forest Green is 849$ before tax.

Add it to the cart to see discounted price.

Edit: sorry it looks like forest green no longer available at ops mentioned price. Haul away $50 is also not applying anymore.

It still works for me. You must do it through the app not in your browser.

Consumer report rated it 76/100. Reliability 4/5.
Samsung are known to have bad rep in terms of appliance reliability. Seems like CR is pretty confidence with this model. Time will tell.

I got the LG WM4000HWA. CR rated it 87/100. Reliability 5/5.

No one is talking about the bad reviews on their site. I bought the washer and dryer and I'm already thinking of cancelling.

Don't buy Samsung Washers. They will fall apart due to galvanic corrosion.
Get LG, Speed Queen, or Miele if you fancy.

I cannot speak for this model, yet, but our current front loading Samsung washer and dryer were purchased in 2008 and are still running flawlessly. We are moving and this new purchase is easier than moving ours.

What a load of crap.

Comparing a flagship cellular device to an appliance.

Cellphones have changed tremendously over the last 10 years, You know what technology *hasnt* changed? Clothes washers and dryers. Refrigerators. Freezers. None of this is groundbreaking or new. They are made the same way they were 20, 30, 40 years ago, only with crappier components and cheaper labor. They are designed to fail. This is evident because *some* brands (Speed Queen comes to mind) are still making appliances that work for decades.
