Neither imo.
Worst case, I think Polestar just gets re-absorbed into Volvo as a sub-line. They have so much backing money now that they have China (Geely) behind them, their survival will probably be all but guaranteed.

And the Polestar is a million times better looking (subjective of course).

You also don't have to deal with all the comments about Elon.
Wtf does Elon's comments have to do with the quality of a Tesla car? DMF!

For what my comment is worth; i had a long term rental with the polestar, was a great experience but it was a bit surreal since it was our first EV experience.

The car felt great, good build quality and range was decent for what we used it for. Have a lvl 2 charger at home made it a non issue.

Is qualifying for the federal tax credits a prerequisite to getting the deal? Or would they get the credit regardless of my qualifications? I can't qualify so it seems like it makes sense to lease at a good price.

If you lease apparently you qualify. My income is way too high to normally qualify further purchase but I wa told a lease will qualify

Can you buy out the car after the lease ends unlike Tesla?
I had the option to buyout my Volvo at the end of its lease. Since the Polestars lease through Volvo financing, I'd guess they have a buyout options as well, but, I'd obviously ask someone that works for Polestar that question.

The new TM3 is also $299 but DP is $3K. TM3 has rear screen, much more quiet and comfortable than previous model. You would hate charging this Polestar for road trips because Electrify America is so unreliable.
The supercharger network is opening up to Polestar & Volvo by June or July. So it should be a moot point.

This. the cheaper ones do show 299/mo.
Assuming no down payment and 2k from costco, it'll be 450/month in texas for me

The wild thing to me is that I brutally dispise Elon musk, but the number of people in this thread that think I'm some sort of fanboy for saying Tesla's tech is better is insane. The Tesla just has way more processing power, a bigger screen, and runs way smoother. Go lookat the polestar subreddit, they will tell you this all day long. This polestar is probably still 5 years back. It's sad because as much as I liked the P2, the infotainment was just a hangup.

Yeah that's what I've heard too (from the subreddit mostly). Have only test driven the Polestar 2 and the infotainment was decent, but I've seen how Tesla's screen is way more responsive.

Someone mentioned how you should get a Polestar if you want a car with some decent tech, but get a Tesla if you want a very good iPad-like screen with a car attached.

I personally don't like that the Model 3 and Y doesn't have a console screen, and the newer models are moving even more of the controls of the car into the screen.
