I like EV's a lot (currently own 2)… rented a Polestar 2 for a week while traveling and really hated it. Felt super small inside and did not make good use of the interior space like most other EV's do. We had heard good things about Polestars and were surprised how much we didn't like it. It was such a treat to return home to our Bolt EUV.

Yes, that's the idea. You're paying for the depreciation of the car.

I am currently running under the impression that leasing is a good idea for EVs because of how fast technology is changing.
well...some of us bought tesla's that are now they are selling for half the price.

Thanks!
Called in just now and they mentioned that the lease terms are slightly different when you add Pilot and/or Plus (once any of these packages gets added, they treat it as a different car, so different terms). Which is why the lease prices changes more than you'd expect. The person I talked to yesterday likely gave me wrong information, which sucks.

The configuration online shows me ~380$ with taxes, when I add pilot and plus. 7500 miles/year (I drive very little).

Same with people who bought Polestars too (and pretty much all EVs).

Exactly. With the extra lease cash being offered and the high residuals, there are a lot of EV's where you're actually paying less than the depreciation. I've never leased a car before, but that was enough for me to do it a few days ago with an Ioniq 5.

That's because the BZ4XYZABCD (or whatever that car is called) was mostly built as a compliance car. I expect their newer models to be much better rated.
The BZRKR or whatever it's called is what happens when you spend a decade stealing hydrogen government welfare rather than developing EVs and then want an EV on the lot to poison your customers on the concept of them so they'll buy one more hybrid.

Super helpful; thanks! It seems the pricing is on par with the model 3.

In fact, the polestar is more expensive because the total "due at signing costs" are allocated over 27 months compared to Tesla which is 36 months.

To be fair, two years ago there were a lot of dummies caught up in used car pandemic pricing who seriously thought ANY car was an "investment" that would increase in value and their launch edition EVs were collector's items. I seriously felt like I was getting a 9-to-1 pushback on "Well, next year when prices go back to normal, what kind of discounts are we gonna see?" from all the owners who believed 2022 was the new norm. Then the EV price war broke out...

Deal cannot be duplicated in Central Florida. $2000 off from Costco yes but down payment will not be $1000 either $2000, only close to $6000 after tax, title and all other fees.

Silly question - is the $1,400 destination charge already factored into this price? Or is this part of the "dealer fees" that come up in the end? When I go to checkout on their order page, I don't see the $1,400 factored into the sign on or monthly fee.

Can you only get these serviced at polestar dealers or can I do it at my local Volvo? Closest polestar is ~450mi away but there's a Volvo dealer a couple miles down the road. I've seen a polestar or two there before, but the polestar site makes it seem like I can only service at polestar.

Sorry I am new to lease stuff... So effectively you will be paying about 9 thousand to keep this car for 3 years and then you have to give it back to them?
What do you think happens to the value of a car purchased in 3 years?

With EVs lease is the way to go OR buy used with low miles. Tech is changing rapidly, treat them like you would a new Iphone, that's the best way to understand EVs.
