I like EV's a lot (currently own 2)… rented a Polestar 2 for a week while traveling and really hated it. Felt super small inside and did not make good use of the interior space like most other EV's do. We had heard good things about Polestars and were surprised how much we didn't like it. It was such a treat to return home to our Bolt EUV.

The way I see this working and I would suggest whoever is serious about this is to have the contract take of the 2K off the down payment.

So for NY for example

It should roughly work out to 3000 - 2000 + 1500(tax) due at signing and $300 or a monthly.

Lucid was having something similar and I got the contract to take off the incentive of my monthly payments instead.
This would work if you got $2000 off the lease, which you don't. It's $2000 off MSRP.

try a different dealer. One reason I hate dealerships.
1 dealership within 3 hours and 1 6 hours away. Not worth driving 12 hours round trip.

depends how much you want that 2K. I leased a new vehicle ( diff brand) from a Boston dealer inspite of being in NY.

So to each his own. The 2K is in "incentive" which leaves it up to the dealer how to apply it.

Until I see proof that someone got $2000 off their lease down payment, I'll assume it's company wide.

What's the point? You already said the first dealer said it's on MSRP and the other nearest dealer is too far. At this point, you're better off looking at another EV deal.

No where does it state that the 2k is off the down payment. It's going to be off the MSRP which makes this luke warm deal at best. Need to see proof. Calling the dealer leaves it up to them to decide. Calling Costco might help clarify.

The point is this dude is telling me I'm wrong, which is pointless, especially because he doesn't have ANYTHING constructive to add to the post.

He's just assuming at this point because he doesn't actually know if they can apply this to the lease or not.

My point was, I'd consider going back to the same dealership to request they take $2000 off the lease if I have proof that it's possible.

For now, from what I was told by a representative of Polestar, $2000 is off MSRP and NOT the lease price.

This post (above in the body of the OP) shows $2000 coming off the down payment under #4 in the conditions. Did you read it?
I agree, this deal is bad and the OP is misleading people into wasting their time.

The polestar reddit has folks mentioning the 2k is off the down payment. So probably true. Would be good to see official docs or receipts so it can be shown to dealers. Or maybe Costco can confirm.

On one hand, absolutely on paper a great deal. Especially since it's likely eligible for the $7500 tax rebate. A year ago I heard it described as a "game changer". On the other, the trims ramp up in price rapidly (I think it jumps like 10K for just the trim with leather seats), Chevy bungled the Blazer launch with a buggy stop sale trainwreck, and IMHO it's not the best looking SUV in the world.
Yeah it's gotta be the 1LT for a deal, but at 27,500 after the POS credit I'm super interested. The range is the real seller at the price point. Should also handle lighter towing well. The gas is rated at 1500 lbs and EVs typically from a torque standpoint exceed combustion engines pull, range on highway being the tradeoff with weight.

I just rented a single motor for a few days. Compared to the model 3, material quality and finish wise, the Polestar is in another league.

Tech is not as polished, which was surprising, because in Volvo's gas cars it seems really well sorted. I had issues with bluetooth audio switching/muting during google maps navigation, cameras not activating when they should, etc.

How much is your auto insurance with this car compared to a gasoline based car? I remember flr Tesla Model 3 auto insurance was twice the gasoline based midsize car for me.
I love when people claim the insurance is "double" but heres my 6 month breakdown

2021 TESLA Y PERFORMANCE - $1,076.85
2022 TESLA Y - $1,034.67
2022 HONDA CIVIC 4D HBK SPT TOU -$903.34

So my Performance Model Y is less than $200 more than a hatchback civic over a 6 month period. My dual motor Y is $130 more, thats like $22 more a month. I spend significantly more on gas than the difference in insurance costs.

I keep dipping my toe in the ev pool and getting out so I'm knowledge is limited. Two questions: People are talking about getting the Federal EV credit of $7500 with the lease but doesn't the lease factor that in via the Polestar Clean Vehicle Incentive? Also I looked at the charging and it looks like it could be in limited uses be charged via regular outlet but that is not good for long term use so I would have to install a wallbox but the car will be in the driveway outside and I would assume the wallbox would have to be on the garage wall inside? (midwest so elements would be hard on it if I had it installed on the outside of the garage.) Would that even work? I would assume I would have to pull the other cars and bring the ev into the garage for charging or could the wallbox cables be long enough to charge in the driveway? Looking to add a car for running around town until car prices move back to closer to historical levels and limiting my expense to do so. $8000 in lease payments over 2.5 years plus fees doesn't seem like a terrible amount to pay to do that versus overpaying for an used car at current prices which I think are bound to drop back to more normal levels.
