I bought a couple of these when they were super expensive. And then bought a couple when price was $126.

Hell I'd take NVMe pricing from just 6-9 months ago. I remember when these were $80!

It's a good deal in recent market, but I still believe the price will go back down by the end of this year

I paid 86 bux for my 2tb directly from samsung. I rushed and bought about 3 different 2tb drives in that period before samsung decided to slow manufacturing to stabilize pricing.

Yes compared to a booting hard drive. I have an older windows 7 machine that I have some older HI8 video software and drivers on that I am using to convert old tapes. It used to take a long time to boot (minutes) and now just seconds.

Like to back up/store photos and videos? You're probably better off with HDD if that the case.

Editing? Beef up the RAM.

*Take my suggestions with a grain of salt. Making educated proposals, but I am by no means an expert.

I know SSD is better than HDD,

but

SATA vs NVME ... I know there is also difference,,

but I wonder If you have gen 1 or gen2. or gen 3 NVME...

going to GEN 4 top of the line will make the difference.

In real world examples
