I have an old corded one, a NiMH cordless one (like this model, just the colorful version), and a Lithium one (79470).

The NiMH cordless one (like this model) IMO are much much worse than Lithium, not worth it IMO.
Compared to the Lithium, the NiMH has a very short battery runtime (~30"-1', you can hear it get weaker and the tone of the motor change while using it), generally weaker, less smooth/louder/rougher operation, and the blades are not adjustable. The Lithium model makes the NiMH feel like a toy.

I recommend Lithium model 79470, price wasn't much higher, $33.47 when I ordered it.

I started cutting my own hair during the pandemic and I'm never going back to the barbers with the cost and wait times. At least I only have myself to blame if my hair's jacked up 🤣

If you pay for people to do everything for you, you've got bigger problems than the DIY crowd. 😆 I've saved thousands of dollars cutting my boys hair over the years. It used to be $11 a cut and now it's $25. Every 3-4 weeks.

I have the corded version which has performed flawlessly for many years, wonder if this is equally good. Going cordless is certainly tempting, this bundle package is the same price as what I paid for the corded version kit from Costco pre-pandemic.

I picked up a similar Andis Incred clipper cordless set for international travel. Felt it wasn't strong enough so did some research and picked up the VGR 003. It's 2 speed, has USB-C charging and has a good build. I got mine for ~30 but it was night and day better than the Andis clipper. I used it more now than my $100+ Oster 76's. Can't speak to longevity, but worth checking out.

How is the durability of these? I just ordered the Wahl Pro 5-star Magic clipper to replace my almost-20 yr old Wahl Sterling 4. The Sterling is solid but after many years of abuse I'm encountering the 'loud buzz' issue on it (adjusting the voltage dial doesn't help) and the case falling apart as well (it has been dropped several times), so I think it's time for it to go to e-waste Frown

I know people generally recommend going the Pro or 5-star route but the cordless is quite appealing especially at this price point. Maybe I'll just grab one just to know Smilie

inquiring minds want to know: do you go on vacations long enough that you need to cut your hair while abroad?

At minimum the cordless one has been great for use with kids, it's a lot quieter, even when plugged in.

If it's the same as I've had you can swap out the battery pretty easily.
