You can go to any thrift store and buy a baseball bat for less than this that was not expressly designed to be a weapon. ( Rules on baseball bats have changed over the years so older ones are not allowed so you can get them cheap.)

the problem with this is if you use it on someone and end up in court, the opposition lawyer is going to say that it is a weapon that was also intended to be used as a weapon when purchased, and that holds true even if you use it in self-defense. if you just use a regular baseball bat to strike someone down (and what you should also do is put a cheap glove around it and keep it there at all times) there is much less of a chance that you will be seen as an aggressor since a regular baseball bat with a mitt around it is going to be seen by the judge and or jury as something that you picked up in the heat of the moment to defend yourself with. we are talking about two different worlds here in possible outcomes.

Yeah, with the insane and backwards laws these days in many places, people aren't even allowed to defend themselves.

If I were ever in a situation where I needed to use a bat against some lowlife in self defense, then I'd rather wack them with an actual baseball bat instead of a bat that wasn't designed to be used for baseball, as that could be used against you later on when the state decides to prosecute you for the crime of defending yourself.
