As a former Disney Imagineer who has been to all Disney Parks worldwide and has a literal ride vehicle in his living room - I'm lamenting the current state of trash that is the US-based parks - Tokyo is where it's at.

Not only are the parks better, cleaner, friendlier, and more advanced, they're also much cheaper as of now. You could EASILY fly to Tokyo and spend 4 days there for less than a trip to WDW, no problem. Popcorn is around $2.50 USD. Tickets around $65 each. Stay at the Sheraton on the monorail line for cheap (and you can use Marriott Bonvoy points to do that for free). I've been twice in the past year and there is no comparison. The only downside is buying an extra suitcase, because you will be buying more gachapon and TDL souvenirs than you ever thought possible.

Plus you get the added benefit of the freshest sushi on Earth for $20 for a meal and get to visit the best city for tourists right now (although crowded, admittedly). Lastly, you could duck to Osaka to Universal Japan as well, which is another wonderful park. Or stay in Tokyo and see Sanrio Puroland for a Sanrio indoor theme park, which is so bad it's wonderful.

I would, however, avoid Tokyo Disney in June when they open Fantasy Springs, and it's too hot. TokyoDisney Sea will be a madhouse unless you just don't care about the new huge expansion.

You'll spend more at DL here because you'll need to purchase Genie+ if you want to ride more than 4 rides in a day. That adds another $120+ for a family of four, and that's the business model they're nickel and diming you with on this 'deal'.

Really, consider going to Tokyo instead of the US parks. Disneyland is pure trash and WDW is a beer-gut farm. I've had a Disneyland annual pass since 1990 (except when I worked at WDI), and this year I gave it up. Universal is eating their lunch.

Sorry but Disneyland sucks now. Poor customer service, terrible food, and broke-down rides. But maybe you'll get to witness some brawls.

this news is out in the wild. googling gave me all this [google.com].

but if it makes you feel more comfortable with my information, you can read it from disney park blogs [go.com] (not my source, but a source).

Earlier this year we went to Tokyo. Since it's right in the city, we spent two days at the two Disney Parks. The tickets for us two adults and two children cost $180 for each park. That's $180 for all four of us per day, including tax. They even still have free FastPasses, in addition to Genie+ like paid skip the line for a couple of rides at each park.

I'm not suggesting traveling to Japan just to go to Disney (unless you're an Uber Disney fan), but the price difference really puts the ridiculous ticket costs of US parks into prospective. Although granted part of the low cost is due to the strong Dollar exchange rate VS the Yen.
I'll skip this year and go Japan next year.

Tokyo Disney is run separately from all the other parks. That's why it's still worth going to over the other disneys
If you're going to CA just for Disneyland, you'll probably save money overall if you book a trip to Japan instead. Everything in Japan is much cheaper, such as food, hotel, transport. Plus you get the benefit of traveling to one of the best tourist destinations vs shithole california

That flight just sounds daunting coming from Boston, but I would definitely like to go to Japan once.
It's 14 hours from Boston nonstop, just marginally longer than the 12 hours from SoCal for me. Then again, you guys have it easy going to Europe. That being said, we do sometimes do some crazy flight itineraries, like the time we went to Santorini via NYC, Stockholm and Helsinki (8 hour, 23 hr, 22 hour layovers) :p

I assumed the flight path was CA, then onto Japan, is that not the case?

only if you have a connection, otherwise, the shortest straight path from BOS -> NRT is north through Canada and into the artic ocean above Alaska. Refer to a globe Smilie

Will this deal be available without getting the 3 day tickets? We planning to go Thursday-Friday for 2 days.

Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is permanently closed.
the point of the joke is that Galactic Starcruiser was NEVER at Disneyland.

early on someone commented about this attraction, which is not relevant to a deal thread for Disneyland.... in California...
