I mean, so is chocolate and a bunch of other stuff. I'd suggest keeping it in a box in a closet.

It's just that normal chewing gum is basically asking for cavities.

tbf chocolate may be less toxic to dogs (i.e. higher quantity to cause disastrous results). For example if my 70 lb golden retriever got into some sweets for a split second, I wouldn't freak out. Wasn't able to get a good idea of how much gum is fatal for a dog (since % cacao is advertised but % xylitol isn't) but them accidentally eating a stick that you drop can be problematic.

Unfortunately, this is only *partially* sweetened with Xylitol, so a heads-up for those sensitive to sugar alcohols :\

Ingredient list:
XYLITOL, SORBITOL, CHEWING GUM BASE, MANNITOL, GLYCERIN, MALTITOL SYRUP, MALTODEXTRIN, LESS THAN 2% OF: ARTIFICIAL FLAVORS, RICE STARCH, ASPARTAME, ACESULFAME K, COCONUT OIL, SODIUM CARBOXYMETHYLCELLULOSE, SUCROSE FATTY ACID ESTERS, LECITHIN (SOY), GREEN TEA EXTRACT, CARNAUBA WAX, SUCRALOSE, XANTHAN GUM, BHT TO MAINTAIN FRESHNESS, BLUE 1 LAKE, BLUE 1.

(in case you're curious, the reason why many companies don't sweeten their stuff exclusively with xylitol is because it's one of the most expensive sugar alcohols)

Xylitol for teeth almost bought. But malodextrin is basically sugar (simplest carb out there). Between that and the possibility of other artifical sweetners, have to pass.

Glass is deadly for a dog too if chew/consumed… do you keep glass out of your house? I don't feed my dog gum…. Or glass.
