If you need to withdraw all your money at once you can not
BrioDirect is an online brand of Webster Bank (FDIC insured), which has been around for almost 90 years and has 177 branch stores across the country (in case that's a benefit to you). Wealthfront is online only and not technically a bank. They distribute your money to banks that are FDIC insured, so you're covered that way.
I think both are good options, so it comes down to your personal preferences. I would opt for the higher rate if there's no major differentiator between the two products (and your money is insured), but that's just me. Some people prefer to go with a known brand they trust and will sacrifice interest in return. American Express Savings, for example, are popular despite only offering 4.25%.
You can see a listof other popular option over on our personal finance site at https://money.slickdeal
You have to send them a "special" message formatted just the way they want it. They don't have an online form or a PDF to make it easier.
On top of that, I can't get them to acknowledge in a formal way that my beneficiaries have been properly assigned.
I don't think it's too much to ask that they send me either a message, or an email, or god forbid a USPS letter showing me the beneficiary info they have on file.
They just want you to take their word for it. As anyone who's dealt with an estate after a person has died will tell you, it's pretty important that you get these details done, and done correctly.
As far as they're concerned, I have to wait till I'm dead to find out they did it incorrectly.
I'm thinking seriously of walking away from them because of this.
Rant over.

Feel the wrath of Jaime's D
It's a cash account with 5.25% daily compounding interest FDIC insured.
Pros:
You get a Mastercard debit card and can use any allpointnetwork ATM fee free. Use the allpointnetwork locator to find them they are everywhere.
Initial funding took a few days but so far so good. You can also buy crypto and stocks or even open an IRA on the app with the money in your cash account. Takes about 3 days to withdraw back to the original funding account and 10 days to use the money or transfer to any other account.
They are also releasing a credit card that gets 1.5% cash back on all purchases and is automatically deposited to your cash checking account at the end of each month.
Seems promising so far and the app devs are def legit. The only catch is you need to use the app there is no access by website.
You can assign a beneficiary and also there is a 25 dollar bonus if you setup direct deposit.
Since it's not a savings account it doesn't have weird transfer limits that I'm aware of but will dig deeper to see if anything notable to mention here.
Built in budgeting tool and allows you to link all your external accounts to get a big picture view of money in / money out.
Cons:
App only access (but the app is very modern and one of the nicest I've seen)
No actually checking (who actually writes checks anymore?)
No joint account option
Would've gone with them but sadly they don't have an app for Androids 😮 💨
Also when you withdraw it shows up on your other bank account at the end of the same day.
Bonus is the transfers show up as a direct deposit. That's great because it'll qualify for bank bonuses that require direct deposits to fulfill bonus requirements.
Says right on the AppStore page NOT FDIC INSURED MAY LOSE VALUE. That's a no go
*edit - says brokerage services. Which is typical. Banking appears to be fdic insured. Back to a 'go'

It's an app that has multiple savings and investment products, obviously investment products aren't FDIC insured. I've been using it for 2 months now and it's been great so far once you understanding the timing of your deposits.
3 days for funds to be able to transfer money back to the originating account the money was transferred in from
3 days for funds to become available for use on debit card or as a form of payment(routing/account number / ACH) or atm withdrawal
3 days for funds to become available to invest in stock/IRA/crypto
10 days to transfer money out to any other account.

Across another option where some of the investment accounts like Robinhood is offering 5.5%APY for their existing customers to house their funds in their account. Although this option doesn't come with a debit card and banking experience but wouldn't it be easier to transfer funds without any limitations when needed. I may be missing something
I just wasted a ton of effort opening this and transferring in (8/24)
HYSA, 5.02% (just recently dropped from 5.21%) with at least 1k monthly DD, $200 sign-up / referral bonus, decent app
*I think we expect 8% by then. Cheers
