Has Home Depot started using 3rd party suppliers? This seems like a no name brand.
I'm always skeptical when a light fixture uses the Wi-Fi icon to indicate a dusk to dawn light sensor

20 reviews. 18 of which are 5 star. unbelievably good. given multiple are incentivized/free for product reviews (Home Depot calls it their "Seed" program)

Well, the lights are sold/shipped by Home Depot and returns are easy if needed.

If I go to HD I am only picking up known brands or heard of. They may be becoming a marketplace like Walmart and Amazon to allow 3rd part off branded products flooded by Chinese sellers. But I am hoping they continue with known branded products.

I don't think you'll find this item in-store
For me these items always show quite the lag on "Ship to Store" time and never show up as available today.

either it ships directly from the 3rd party vendor or it's stocked in some warehouse.

That might change with time :/ but that's been my experience so far

If the value of these is the "Dawn to dusk" automation, you can just purchase lightbulbs with a light sensor in them and use the lantern of your liking (you'd leave its switch "on" 24/7)

I have two similar scones from this brand installed and they have worked well for the last year. Live up in the midwest so they have seen its fair share of seasonal change.

I have those blubs they are great for $10 each. Can you find these fixtures for $25 for the pair? Assume $2 for still having to buy the bulb.

This is why I am about to pull the trigger is the fact that I need four new fixtures.

SDers only want to support the 5 brand names they know in each category — small and new businesses be damned

Has anyone seen these up close and know if the bottom is fully open or has glass?

It kind of appears open. I guess that would leave me with multiple spider nests and bug guts to clean out fairly often.

I am a 75% off guy. If it sells out before 75% off im ok with that. If you need this 50 off is ok but my needs are simple and I can wait.

This might come off as curmudgeonly, but please only consider using these under covered areas to avoid creating even more light pollution than we already have.

Exposed fixtures should project light horizontally or downward when possible.

I have these, the bottom is fully open.

They look great, but I remember them being a pain to install. The mounting threads or something were too long so it took a bit of cutting (of the threads) to get the acorn nuts in the front to sit flush, and things just weren't going together smoothly.

I also had issues with the built in sensors getting wonky after a while and randomly strobing.

I ended up covering the sensor with electrical tape to block them, and just use dusk to dawn bulbs with their own sensors built in, haven't had any issues since then.

Other than that they look killer with a nice warm white bulbs (2700k), I'm very pleased with them overall.
