I had the studio 3, then the studio pro and then got the xm5 refurbs from secondipity and I think the xm5s blow the beats out of the water in every category. The only thing the beats had over the xm5s is that they weren't as hot. But compared to earbuds, both are hot, xm5s can just get your ears a little warmer than the beats. My main use is also at the gym, but the sound quality and noise cancellation of the Sonys is amazing and worth it to me even though they are a little warmer.
Same price at Costco with the Apple care if you have membership

Thank you! I jumped on this immediately. I just purchased some beats solo's for Mother's Day. I wanted the pro's but I was not willing to pay $349 to get the noise cancellation feature. I will be returning the solo 4's unopened. This is an excellent deal.
I don't think these have the H chip, so they won't act like airpods, makes them same as say bose (available for 220$ at costco) in connectivity, but worse in other things. Am i missing something ?

I tested this in store but felt like the base is lacking. So I opted for Skullcandy Crusher ANC 2 instead.
I have an average size head as a 5ft 7" male, but those beats are the real scull crushers. Don't feel comfortable in them after 10-20 minutes. Sony xm 5/xm4 is a bit better. Bose 700 - the opposite = too loose. Bose 220 costco deal are the comfiest of them all

Agreed, I ordered this yday and ive only been wearing them for 30 min and it feels like my head is in a vise. Much more uncomfortable than Studio3 and Soundcore Lifetune (my other pairs). Sound is nice tho.

Absolutely terrible headphones. They weigh a ton, the sound quality is mid at best (weird bass signature and flat highs) but the worst is how tight they are. Look at the comments hereā¦ they are horiffically uncomfortable.
