One thing is to tip the driver and another is take profits away from the restaurants. The problem with Doordash is they are the worse when it comes to sharing the profits from the sale with the business. They take over half of whatever you pay. Uber does the best. John Oliver made a show about it. I cant wait to run out of my DD credits. To use Uber instead.

I think it depends where you are in the country. Some cities have basically built tips in and then some, example Seattle.

I don't get all the hate for delivery services. Nobody is making customers use them. Nobody is forcing restaurants to do business with them. Nobody is making drivers work for them. As a regular customer and part time delivery guy I think it's a great service. I love delivering food to disabled people when their kids want to buy them a nice meal. Or bringing a bunch of pizzas and party supplies for a kids bday. Or bringing medicine to someone who is sick. Or food to someone whose car is in the shop. Yea it's a waste of money if you are perfectly capable of picking up the food yourself, but that's a you problem. Yes of course it costs money. Drivers time and gas isn't free.
