Agreed. With that said, holy shit, just opened the link and was prompted with the info that Micro Center is coming (back to) Santa Clara. Can't wait.

I was in the same boat, replacing a 10 year+ AMD system. Since I don't play games all that much, I went with a basic fan: the Thermalright Assassin King 120 SE for around $20. There are other colors available on Amazon. It has been working great. You can also set your temperature limit in the bios if you don't need max performance.

May be I got lucky, this was a much easier build compared to years ago. Everything worked after installation, it has been running great for the last several months. In the bios, I Enable Memory Context Restore via tips from other forum. With this setting, it takes just about 20 secs to boot up using a SATA SSD.

I believe the whole point of making you come in is the chances of you buying something else is high. That's how these deals work in their favor. Get them in here and have them buy other crap. lol

I was told by the manager of the Parkville, MD store that they can't substitute any items in a bundle, including open box, something about the system doesn't let them. Was trying to get an even better deal with open box items but oh well, still a really good bundle price.

Depends on your GPU and what games you play. It's a much more capable CPU for gaming but actually worse for productivity. For me, the 7700x is more than enough with my RTX 3070 Ti + that $100 could be better spend on something else, so that's what I ended up going with.

We have two within 10 miles of us here in Atlanta for some reason. There used to be a Fry's down the road from one of them those deals were even better back in the early 2010s.

Not true. Build your order online and submit it. Add individual items and don't buy the bundle. The prices for the CPU and RAM automatically reduce in cart with pretty much any motherboard, open box or not. The only thing I noticed was that the MSI B650-P gets an additional ~10 off if purchased new. You can effectively build your own bundle this way.

Also, any item from the "bundle" can be returned if you purchase individually online, I had to return the MSI board (open box was dead) got another open box April Elite which still ended up being cheaper than the bundle price.
