The overall uses are fairly limited, it takes up space, but the Dutch oven itself is nice and can be used on the stove top/oven. I use mine mostly for bigger holidays where I'll need the extra cooking surface and can have it in the corner of or outside of the kitchen.

I have one too in red and i love it too! I use it all the time for things like stew and chili.
I should take it out and check, but i am pretty sure it goes to 400. It sears food and then you can have it slow cook.
