I feel like the 14" M3 Pro with 18gb of ram for $1699 from the Apple refurbished site is worth the $100 difference.

Costco has the base model 14" on sale for $1399 right now, m3 edition. Also very slick! 90 day returns and 2 year warranty included.

You can get a refurbished 16 inch M1 with 12 month warranty for $1,169.99
https://www.ebay.com/itm/225770367069 that seems like a way better deal to me.

99 percent of people won't see a difference between the two laptops. I'm trying to think of the differences between the two, same screen and chassis. M2 is marginally faster and M2 has ProRes encode and decode engine.

We can hope that Apple will be forced to compete with Windows Snapdragon ARM laptops coming out in a couple weeks. Won't be a huge difference between Macs and pcs performance/thermal wise once those come out. Plus you can actually expand the NVME storage on those laptops.

Unless you're doing crazy editing or other very intense work you will be fine with the 8gb unified. Check the benchmarks and test results!
