Agreed. I have this processor. Paid $220 three months ago and it's pretty damn good

At ~$100 less than when it 1st came out, it is a great deal, but the 5600G is generally considered a better value with close to the same performance -- just have to wait for it to go on sale if you want to save more than ~$40 compared to today's offer. For budget gaming go for the 5700X3D @$229. While it was a good bridge, waiting for graphics card pricing to become a bit more sane, the built-in GPU can't really take the place of a discrete card, though the newer models come closer to doing just that.

Why do you update your CPU so often? Waste of money if you ask me

I think the Ryzen 5700x3d is a better deal.

Well the thing is I resell these PC's and if you look at the price difference in an Ryzen 5 and 7 system you would see why. I'm personally running a I7-12700k in my PC and will probably keep it till the Next Intel Generation comes out that requires a whole new MB.

Fantastic deal. I built a three-machine server cluster with these. It's worth it to not have to install a graphics card. Cache is quite big and it's fast.

Thanks for posting this OP Smilie

One thing to make note of on the amazon reviews are complaints that the bundled wraith cooler is not powerful enough if you're relying on the graphics built into the CPU.. no idea if that's true for all people or not but if your PC case is big enough for a more powerful CPU cooler and you have the budget for it why not grab one just to be on the safe side?

I've been very happy with my "Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE CPU Cooler,"

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...=UTF8&th=1

although it's a CPU cooler on the larger side so you'd want to check the measurements inside your PC case and make sure it will fit. Tom's hardware was very impressed with it , see their review at

https://www.tomshardware.com/revi...sin-120-se

If you go that route you'll need to grab some thermal paste and 90 percent rubbing alcohol / Isopropyl Alcohol (your local Walmart will have a bottle of 90 percent rubbing alcohol for four dollars for example) and, oddly enough, a pack of paper coffee filters (also cheap from your local Walmart for example) which apparently works well for rubbing thermal paste off if you make a mistake or if for whatever reason the CPU refuses to cooperate with the motherboard or gets damaged in the mail to the point where it's not working and you need to return it... in my case I grabbed the arctic MX-4

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1

although I've realized since then the "new and improved" version arctic MX-6 is practically the same price .. one of those "doh" moments but my MX4 is working just fine as far as temp control in combatination with the peerless assassin cooler

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09VDL3...F9kZXRhaWw

If you do decide to take a chance on the bundled wraith stealth cooler , I've been told on tech support forums it's best to wipe off that thermal paste it comes with and apply an arctic thermal paste instead if nothing else because the arctic thermal paste makes it easier to remove the CPU cooler and replace it if necessary as opposed to the bundled thermal paste apparently being cement-like when dry making it harder to get the air cooler off .. pure conjecture here mind you I don't have a lot of experience popping air coolers off CPU's, just repeating what I've been told by heads wiser and more experienced than my own.

Is it worth it? I've read the performance difference is negligible in most scenarios

Xamindar if you don't know off the top of your head of course that's okay, I'm going to assume you're a busy guy with work and so forth who may not necessarily be paying attention to stuff like the games the kids are playing Smilie ..

.....but if you do know by any chance (say the kids were telling you enthusastically about how they kicked the opposing team's behinds on the game they were playing while you were driving them to school for example Smilie ) for people considering buying this say for a "build a PC for the kids" setup do you know what games the kids were playing? Some examples that come to mind for me are Minecraft (still so popular decades after it's release ! ) , Fortnite, Apex Legends... but if someone was going to buy this hoping not to also buy a dedicated video/graphics card for say Baldur's Gate 3 from what I read online they would run into a problem trying to play a game as demanding as that one.

Also do the kids play at 1080 resolution gaming or a higher resolution than that? (again if you know off the top of your head)
