Components most changed/upgraded are RAM, SSD and GPU. All of them can be upgraded in this Dell. Comes with a 4090 and a 1000W PS. Why change power supply? 5600 DDR5 is bad? Just looking at a $2800 Lenovo Tower 7i with same CPU and they use DDR5 5200. Your unsureness on the cooling doesn't instill confidence you know what you're talking about.

This is a tired conversation. You want to build from scratch, feel free. You think there is better pre-builts, then LINK THEM to them if you truly want to help people.

That xmp is supported by the ram doesn't mean required. I went with it because it is highly-rated at a good price from a well-known manufacturer. Many people in the Amazon QA section report it works perfectly in the R16 and at 5600 speed.

This is the exact same RAM you and I have been talking about previously then. Got it. I got thrown off by the XMP in the description. Are you going to be purchasing this RAM?

Yep. I ordered it this morning. It arrives on Wednesday from Amazon. I hope I can sell the 2x16 that comes with it to offset the cost a little Wink

definitely not any games that need 64gb. the video card is going to chew through pretty much everything with its 24gb of onboard vram. The only reason I'm upgrading to 64gb is because I literally work on 3 virtual machines simultaneously all day on my desktop, and I allocate 8gb or so of memory to each VM, so this will leave me with 32+ for the main system itself.

The extra memory definitely comes in handy. I have a lot of VMs and work with Openshift/ROSA (kubernetes).

Does anybody know if Dell will give you a deal (maybe even free) to upgrade to Win 11 Pro? If not, where are people going to get the upgrade.

Just got mine today, installed the 2nd SSD. Probably going to upgrade to 64 Gig of ram, but also think I should upgrade to Pro from Home.
