Got the HD cloned to the 4TB Samsung 990Pro, and got the ram installed, showing 64gb. Haven't checked the speed yet, but it'll have to wait as I'm trying to get all my VMs up and running to start work again in 8 hours Smilie !!!

Nice machine to look at. Feels extremely solid.

Did you clone to the 4tb so you could use the Samsung as your boot drive?

Macrium. It's what I've always used in the past without issue.

just played some Lonely Mountain Downhill at 8K60FPS and it was glorious. This was while all 3 of my work VMs were running behind it. I have played back some 8k VR videos as well using VLC which my previous machine with the 6700XT would stutter on, and the 4090 just chews right through them like butter.

Good deal, I use that for backup. Good to know its clone function is solid.

The stock 1TB drive that comes with this PC is Samsung PM9A1 Gen4 SSD. Spec-wise it seems comparable to the 980 Pro. https://semiconductor.samsung.com...sd/pm9a1/?

Will keep an eye out for the 4TB 990 Pro. What's a good price these days to pull the trigger based on your experience?

I went from iRacing all graphics on Low to everything set to Max. Like putting on glasses for the first time.

I've been following the 990 pro for a little while. Seems like if you can get it down to $275, that's a good price point. Also consider the WD_Black SN850X. That's what I got after careful reviews between the two. I only chose the WD because of a slightly lower price and a massive 25% cash back (no longer active).

Look for discount codes, .edu discounts, and CB offers.

Thank you. Looking at the WD SN850X. Anyone know why the 4TB version does not come with heatsink pre-installed?

Good point. And I don't know. But I'm ordering an RGB heat sink for it and the 1TB boot drive.
