I went through at least 30 bags of this. First bag and last bag taste the same to me.

Being somewhat of a coffee snob, I would normally agree with you; however, Lavazza uses a nitrogen flush on their coffee and it's amazingly effective at keeping the beans fresh. Once you open the bag, the clock starts ticking (even vacuum sealing isn't effective as the process they use). Unopened these will stay fresher than most other commercially produced coffees- It's not the same as say fresh roasted from a local roaster- but you will pay 2.5x as much as this deal.

Unless you run a bed and breakfast you shouldn't buy this much coffee. Even if it was roasted the same day you received it (which would be too fresh, you want it ~2 weeks old) this would be horribly stale by the time you finished it.
Nah. They are vacuum sealed.

I used to buy fresh beans only from Happy Mug, which I loved. We ran out and ordered this once for an emergency and now my wife prefers this to the more expensive, fresh beans. She has lattes, so I don't even know how she can taste the difference in beans honestly. I only drink espresso, but I will say I am still very happy with these beans. We're no connoisseurs by any stretch, but Reddit made me believe this would be like drinking dirty water. It's now our go to bean.

A few years ago, on a Friday at a store called "Retail Rebel", the day when everything is .50 cents, I went shopping for food and found 20 bags of coffee. The Good stuff, the kind that retails for $16 per bag. It took us about one year to use the 20 bags, and they were all good until the end.

That more likely means the first bag was already stale. But it's all about what you enjoy, so if it was good to you then ignore this internet stranger and enjoy it.

Vacuum sealing does slow oxidation, but it doesn't prevent off-gassing from the beans itself since those gasses are already in the bean when it gets sealed.

My favorite kind of internet stranger. The snobby opinionated type. Wavehug

Very interesting. I know Lavazza can make high quality stuff, but I didn't know about this specific process, so that's really cool to hear.

It was just a recommendation, and the post you just quoted literally is me telling people that if they enjoy it then they shouldn't care what I say. Your bar for snobbery is way too low.

The last time I ordered these beans they were dry and by comparison weak, so it took more per pot. Yaucono from Puerto Rico is hands down, the best beans on Amazon

Got it at $57! Thanks OP. Assuming this only applies to first order then I'll cancel.
