I went through at least 30 bags of this. First bag and last bag taste the same to me.

Being somewhat of a coffee snob, I would normally agree with you; however, Lavazza uses a nitrogen flush on their coffee and it's amazingly effective at keeping the beans fresh. Once you open the bag, the clock starts ticking (even vacuum sealing isn't effective as the process they use). Unopened these will stay fresher than most other commercially produced coffees- It's not the same as say fresh roasted from a local roaster- but you will pay 2.5x as much as this deal.

Unless you run a bed and breakfast you shouldn't buy this much coffee. Even if it was roasted the same day you received it (which would be too fresh, you want it ~2 weeks old) this would be horribly stale by the time you finished it.
I consider myself a part-time coffee snob, and I've been okay with using sealed whole bean coffee, which has been stored in a cool, dark place for a few months. With that said, I'm always up for finding ways to drinking better coffee. How do you buy/store coffee?

I won't ever turn down free or old coffee if it's what I have or am given. Coffee is life and I like to think I'm not so stuck up I would rather skip it entirely Smilie

My personal preference is to use a Bottomless subscription. They give you a free scale and you pay a small monthly feed and as your container gets low it orders more for you. You can have it pick new varieties or you can have a queue or you can just have it always send you the same thing. They can even pregrind it if you don't have a good grinder.

Airscape Canister from Amazon. They were on sale for around $20 a couple years ago.

Can anyone comment on if this a noticeably superior bean than the other 6 bag lavazza deal (the darker Italiano) at $15 more (About 30% higher, $2.5 per bag)

I tried both. Super Crema is far better IMO.

Ok. One bag makes 50 drinks. I guess I can afford that extra 5 pennies per drink 😆
