Edit: I've personally traded in several devices (phones and watch) in Mountain View. In all instances they physically took the device and gave me credit instantly. I can't personally vouch for the other stores.

Can't be any worse than Samsung. I'm 4/4 with my trade ins being rejected by samsung until I inquire why and show photos/videos I took before sending. So far 2/2 with google without issues.
If that is correct and I can buy say a used ipad for $100 and trade it in, then I just got a brand new pixel tablet for $100, correct?
My 7th Gen ipad is in damn good shape but the 1st Gen iPad Pro got sat on, cracking the screen AND actually bending the iPad itself. However, it still functions, just not a "clear" viewing experience. Yet they state $200 value, which seems standard right now. For this deal.
Maybe clearing out stock as a new one is coming.??
I don't want to be stuck with a $400 (or $500 with dock) Pixel tablet plus the cost of an old iPad (I only have a 5th gen, so will have to spend $80 to $100 to buy a 6th gen iPad), so even though this deal is great on paper, I am going to have to pass.
Google has burnt too many people with their terrible trade in and customer service experience for me to take a chance on a tablet that I really don't need. My $260 Lenovo P11 Pro Gen 2 OLED is the perfect media consumption tablet, and I can't imagine this Google Tablet beating the beautiful OLED display on the Lenovo.
