Negative, I've bought and picked up like 10+ Pixel phones at google stores with trade-in the past few years and they've always sent me a seperate box that I need to ship out for the trade-in.

If you happen to live near a physical Google Store, you can do the trade-in instantly in person so no delays or risks. NYC, Boston, and Mountain View.

https://store.google.com/magazine...s?hl=en-US

Edit: I've personally traded in several devices (phones and watch) in Mountain View. In all instances they physically took the device and gave me credit instantly. I can't personally vouch for the other stores.

I placed an order soon after this post was made and already received my Pixel+dock. The packet to send in my iPad arrives on Sat.
Pixel+doc is the older packaging. Just the tablet is the new one and it's in pre order status.

so based on his experience, we shoulda get the trade in pack 2 days after pixel delivery, assuming you mail it in same day or day after, should be more than enough time for them to inspect before return window drops off.

Been debating this for a couple days. Today, Google offered me a free 2 month trial of a higher tier Google One plan (10% back), and I found a decent-looking iPad 6 on eBay for $75. Pulled the trigger on it. Thanks, OP! Hope the iPad is in good shape. I'll turn it in at the store to be sure.
It was reported earlier that the 2 month free trial plan 10% cashback does not start until your trial ends, see post:

Just stopped by the Mountain View Google store and got a $399 credit for my ipad 7th, but here's the catch: the tablet-only version isn't available in-store yet. If you want the tablet only ($399), you'll have to opt for the online trade-in process. I decided to grab the tablet with the dock version for $499 instead to skip the online hassle. Ended up paying $149.53 after tax and the CA recycling fee. You have to pay tax for the full price in CA, not just the difference.

Yeah you're supposed to accept the discounted trial not the free one (something like 2.48) and you get it instantly. Or full priced plan.

Do you know when the tablet alone ($399) will be available at the mountain view store? Online said available for pickup May 14th. I'm going to stop by May 14th. Also do you have google one subscription? There is a 10% cash back as google store credit.. wondering if you can get it in person

Seems like a good time to trade in my first gen 12.9 iPad pro with an almost dead battery for $400. 8+ years old tablet for half the original cost. Im actually surprised they are willing to take it for that much.

Apple would have given me about $150ish for it.

I'm not sure when the tablet alone will be available at the Mountain View store. I didn't sign up for the Google One subscription because I thought the 10% cashback offer doesn't begin until after the trial period ends.

Thanks for the insight.. what did they look at when you did the trade in? Was your ipad charged and working? Any scratches? Do they need a charger?

Good luck with that. Last time it took almost a month to post the trade-in refunds. Specially deals like this processing times will doubles.

I think one trade in per order but I'm not 100% sure and you will get 10% credit within 24 hrs of the product shipment
Can you use 10% credit towards another pixel tablet purchase?

My google one discount (40) is applied to all of them, and got 3 ipad 6th gen for 300$.... If all goes well It looks like Ill have 3 pixel tablets for 180$, pretty sweet! Thanks OP!
When did you purchase your 3 and seems like you were able to apply your Google One discount towards another Pixel Tablets?

They mainly checked if the device turns on and if the display is functioning properly. They didn't seem concerned about any scratches. They didn't require a charger, just the device itself. Even though my iPad's TouchID wasn't working, I still received full credit after the employee consulted with their manager. I'm a bit concerned about potentially not getting full credit if I opt for the online trade-in process, so I decided to get the one with a dock. I actually like the dock.

Could you explain what is the process?

Are you ordering a pickup from Google store website and when you get to the store the Google store's employee offer to accept your trade in??

or You are just shopping at the store and trade-in your device on the spot?

I order a pickup because you mentioned it can be done at the spot, if this is not the case I would much rather skip the drive to NYC and the hassle of finding a parking.
My experience trading in phones and watches was at Google Store Mountain View. I just did everything in store - picked out the new phone and handed them the old one. The salesperson did a quick assessment of the trade-in device and took it, then sold me the new phone with the credit. So I didn't do anything online ahead of time.
