This is difficult to describe in a title BUT I discovered Google is offering a lot more for trade-in's than yesterday.

For instance, yesterday they were only offering $60 for the trade-in of an Apple iPad 7th generation. BUT today they estimate a value of $399! -Expired. I even tried a first generation iPad Pro with a 10.5 screen and they estimated the same amount. And when I changed the iPad Pro to damaged but turns on, the value dropped to $200 value. That's still pretty good and is better than a previous recent deal.

https://store.google.com/us/config/pixel_tablet

PS. I need to add that this is for the 128GB WITH a Docking Station. You can choose the 256GB model for a $100 more, also WITH a Docking Station, or, the Pixel Tablet without a docking station for just taxes, depending on the tradei-n value of your tablet.

So I am dumping some older Ipads!!

QA note: Please see Slickdeals Frontpage post for additional trade-in options.

Negative, I've bought and picked up like 10+ Pixel phones at google stores with trade-in the past few years and they've always sent me a seperate box that I need to ship out for the trade-in.
Free trial account will not work.
If you happen to live near a physical Google Store, you can do the trade-in instantly in person so no delays or risks. NYC, Boston, and Mountain View.

Edit: I've personally traded in several devices (phones and watch) in Mountain View. In all instances they physically took the device and gave me credit instantly. I can't personally vouch for the other stores.

Oh wow, I bought mine on 5/7 and the trade estimated at $399. I haven't received anything yet (still shipping), does that mean Google may not honor the $399? And give me $75 when I send it in?

Or, is this for folks who do their transaction today?

Pretty sure, they have to honor the price quoted when you placed the order. It would be highly unethical to quote a price then change it after placing an order.

Indeed... Reading the threads now. Wondering if anyone has any experience with Google trade in engaging in these type of unethical behaviors. Moreover, wondering what's the best process to hedge this?

Say pixel tab arrives 5/12, send iPad for trade on 5/12, wait up to 5/26 to confirm $399, if not send pixel table back by 5/26...

And will they send the traded ipad back?

They will honor the price at time of order. Whatever is on your order detail page is the max you will receive.

Also 7th gen is basically the same price as 6th on ebay so others can still take advantage. As always, place your google order before you buy an iPad.

No they won't send ipad back. If you return Pixel tablet because Hyla(Google's trade in partner) only provided 75$ for your ipad 6th Gen then they will just process the 75$ refund as Google store credit. It's mentioned in their trade in offer conditions. Also it's clearly mentioned that this trade in is between you and hyla and Google doesn't have anything to do with it so if Hyla starts getting bunch of ipad 6th Gen and they start giving only 75$ then Google won't be honoring 399$ trade in value. I was gonna order pixel tablet trading in my iPad 6 but reading these rules gave me a pause. I would have done it if I lived near a Google store. I am glad I didn't trade in because even if they give me 399$ trade in value I would be so nervous and sweating over Google and hyla flipping last minute and screwing me over. Pixel tablet isn't worth the risk losing my iPad for google store credit

How much is one making if they're selling it for $299? Saw someone on FB marketplace saying they have 10 available and for $299 each.

$40 tax + $100 iPad; so maybe attempting to profit $159?

FML I went into the Google Store into NYC...12 staff members and 0 other customers. I tried doing the trade-in and none of the staff members knew how to sell the tablet without the dock. They told me to do the order online since it can't be done in store.

Another day of incompetence from Google.

That hardly seems fair, as the combo with dock is an existing product whereas the tablet-only version is about to be released in a few days.

In-store trade-in needs to have the new products available. In this case, Google physical stores don't carry the refreshed tablets yet (released May 14). They might have last year's old versions only but you don't want those. You can do the trade-in for tablet+dock. They have the docks (docks are the same as last year's), so their system will allow you to process the trade-in. You get the dock now, go back on May 14 and get the refreshed tablet

Is the tablet actually different or they are releasing the same tablet unbundled?
