Product Description from Walmart
The New Hyper Tough Self-Adjusting Wire Stripper (model 7500) takes the guesswork out of stripping wire. This wire stripper has a self-adjusting mechanism for wire sized from 10- 24 AWG. It features an integrated wire stop to control the length of the strip. This tool is equipped with a swivel knob for micro-adjustments of wire gauges smaller than 20 AWG. The built in wire crimpers crimp 10-22 AWG insulated, 10-22 AWG non-insulated, and 7-8mm terminals. This tool includes a convenient built in wire cutter for quick cuts. The insulated soft grip handles provide comfort and control for extended use.

One of those tools that every homeowner should have. You might not use it often, but when you need on, you're e happy to have it.
Agreed, it's a good price. That said, The pistol grip one is better for wires that are minimally exposed, and the pistol one is also a more precise strip length and the mechanism is less likely to abrade the remaining insulation.
Check the project farm, the pistol one I linked above comparable to the knipex pistol grip https://youtu.be/98DUiirnkIk?si=SbYwGlI03RMG5-Zh

May be money well spent for frequent users
Nice deal. This style stripper is awesome. But it's hit or miss how well the bargain ones work and for how long. I went through a few of them and then bought a premium brand and it was worth the money. ( Irwin I think )

Irwin owner checking in - used mine for years and wired 30 can lights and 5 switches. No signs of slowing down. Not sure how this one would hold up, but anybody that does any electrical work should look into the Irwin branded version of this.

I had to have an employee back in automotive repair price match to the on-line price and check me out but I did finally get it for $5. The price was closed out to $18 on the shelf.

I had one of these, it ended up falling after a couple of years of light use. The handle cracked.

What?!! Every one I've seen (grand total of 4) has been made of 100% steel. Handle (yes, padded with rubber), gears, etc., etc. I guess some people have a knack for making tools fail. Shrug.

Unfortunately it is not the product that is "Hyper Tough". It is just a brand name. I visited an avionics shop, and noticed all the technicians using this style: https://www.amazon.com/YARRAMATE-...B0CHMPX1VT

You can even see the adjustment knob in the picture. Settings that work on fat cable will just cut a thin cable. Still love this kind of stripper though, you just have to be prepared to twist the knobs every so often.

FYI this price is online only. I went to my local wal-mart and found the last pair. Brought it up to the checkout and found out that they are only "clearance" online.

Also....don't think that you can buy something online while still physically inside walmart and expect to be able to easily take it with you. When I found out the price was online only, I used the walmart app to scan the barcode, add it to my cart and purchased it through the app. I asked the cashier if I can show my online receipt with someone and take it out with me. She said she didn't know and that I would need to go to customer service. So I did and the CSM looked at my order, took the strippers out of my hand, threw them in the HW return buggy, and said I would need to wait for a txt TOMORROW saying my order was ready and to come do the curbside pickup to get it. While she is explaining this to me, I get a txt saying that there is a substitution for my order because the strippers, that I literally had in my hand a minute ago, weren't available. So I showed the CSM the text about substitution and before I could decline the replacement, the system threw a different set of wire strippers in my order.

long story short. I had to cancel that order, bring the strippers BACK to the hardware section and hang them back up, redo the online order, and I am picking them up TODAY.

Not really worth saving the 9 bucks after doing all of that.

Important question related to quality.....was it a Boeing shop?
