I bought this a couple days ago. Product works well. I plan to buy the laser attachment once it goes back in stock on the Dyson website. Battery can be replaced. With that said, The only time I'd ever buy a Dyson is if it's through Costco. Getting replacement parts is a huge hassle through Dyson customer service apparently.

I purchased this to upgrade from a V8 whose battery was at the end of its life (not replaceable). Big upgrade. Pleased with the size/weight and the extra wide floor head. The extra suction is also noticeable. The fluffy head from the V8 works with this so lack of fluffy head or extra attachments was a non issue for me.

It is the same price. But online you have to pay $10 shipping.

Dyson Outsize Extra Cordless Stick Vacuum | Costco [costco.com]

No fluffy head attachment for either version. Is there even a fluffy head attachment for this model?

Deciding on our first Dyson vacuum. Either V8 which is on sale at target for $299 or this one. We live in a 1700 square ft condo with lots of stairs. So not a big place. Or I suppose the v10 animal is an option. Any advice is appreciated

The V8 is $180 refurbished from Dyson both on their site and on their Walmart page

V8 battery wont handle 1700 sq-ft on a single charge, I have a V10 can handle 1300 sq-ft easily. I have a V10 on each floor of my house, each floor is 1300 sq-ft

I would go with this personally because it is newer with a larger battery, bin size, and floor head size. The difference in suction between the V8 and this model is noticeable. Also, the outsize comes with the anti-hair wrap floor head design. You also get the peace of mind of Costco returns. To me its a no brainer.

It does seem like bigger would be better, unless you had a very tiny place. The only downfall to this outsize might be it's a pound heavier, so working the stairs might be a little more taxing for example.

Asking this because the BestBuy version seem to come with 2 batteries but it's out of stock now.

Only 1 battery…was also hoping for 2. Just got it from Costco and love it. Battery costs $55 directly from Dyson so well worth getting it from Costco for customer service over Best Buy even if they are offering more accessories too because 3rd party ones are cheap on Amazon.

I don't think Dyson Refurbs are returnable. Some reddit stories about some bad refurb units out there....be careful!
