I own the mid-tier model of this hose reel, and it's prob the best out there for the price. The hose length rating is for a normal "thin" garden hose. So if you are using a commercial or thick garden hose, expect to get about 50%-60% of the capacity since they are much thicker. I would caution that if your connect has one of those metal spring spirals or four in thick plastic sleeve to prevent crinkling, that hose will not work. The connector would stick out and not reel in correctly. Watch a YT video on the assembly. It's very sturdy, and worth the money, but it's built for regular garden hoses without various anti-crinkle features. If you do get this, I recommend getting a few sets of quick releases... you put that on the water facets, hose connector to the faucet, it makes life a lot easier if you want to move to different locations. Same if you have different sprayer heads or connect to a pressure washer.

Just bought the 200' version a couple weeks ago for $10 more. The build quality of these is amazing

Are there actually 225 ft hoses? I think the longest I know of is 100 ft.

After one season my Home Depot version started squeaking and needed some lube. Otherwise it's been much better than our old plasticky reel.

I own the 200ft one and it held up pretty well. Highly recommend
Can you share what type of hose you use with it? I have costco garden hoses that are very thick, and its almost impossible to reel up with the plastic one. I understand the plastic quality is garbage compared to this, but how well does reel up thick hose?

Anyone have this? Any good? Thinking about it.

Have a nice looking $200 stainless steel reel on Amazon saved on a list.
I bought the 200' version a few years ago. It's great. Buying another now for other side of the house.

Eley is even nicer, but the Gorilla is way better than the cheap hose reels that leak after one or two winters, without the Eley premium.

Been waiting for a deal on one of these. The steel ones rust too quickly. This is the way to go!

I only have a 100ft hose so was gonna go for the 150ft one but the 150ft one didn't have wheels. So I looked at the 200ft one which costs $15 more but then the 225ft one with better design and usability was only $15 more than the 200ft one. Here I am, just checked out for the 225ft one even tho I only have a 100ft hose.

I'm concerned about this as well. There's not a lot of info about how thick of a hose will work with this. I found a FAQ here https://gorillamade.com/hose-reel...reels-faq/ but that's the only info I could find.

I bought the 150' one two weeks ago. Great quality. If I didn't throw away the receipt and have to disassemble, I'd probably return and get the 200'. Light weight, sturdy, strong, and I believe a 7 year warranty.

Bought a steel one at northern tool, barely lasted a year. Rust everywhere.
These are made out of aluminum. So you must be talking about a different product.

Damn, I just bought the 200' for $150 a few weeks ago. I wonder if it's worth it to order this and return the other one. If anyone's wondering about the quality, it's rock solid and I highly recommend this reel. It replaced an older Suncast reel that had the plastic handle snap. This handle is cast aluminum and I doubt it will EVER break.
