Some people want to do work on their laptops too. This makes it an affordable price point for light gaming and a high res screen for productivity.

I have the same question. The Dell G15 with Ryzen 7 7840HS, RTX 4060 is also the same price. G16 has a better screen. May be someone can comment

Is there an open slot to add another 16mb stick and will it run dual channel then?

Why no usb4, is that expensive for manufacturers to put in?

You mean 16GB. Seems like a good deal for a 4000 series GPU laptop. I'm hoping the 4070s get to $1000 soon.

It's been almost 2 years since I got a laptop in Dell's "Christmas in July" sale. I've waited this long to upgrade, might as well wait another 2 months to see what they have then.

Also I notice their return policy is 30 days from date of invoice well I just ordered one and it says may get it as early as may 22. So maybe two weeks. Not 30 days.

It's not good for high end gaming, but it is great for photo editing, video editing, coding, etc...
And it can do a bit of light gaming on the side.

While I'd never buy an 18" laptop with a FHD screen, I've seen some people saying that they prefer that. And there are plenty of people who use FHD ~27" monitors on a daily basis; I know a few.

I'm way behind the time if a 4050 is questionable to play games.

I still rock a 1070 on minimum settings for cod lol

It's alright for a few hours a week for stress relief.

No information of how many nits the display is?
I have a similar one but G15 which I took with me for overseas deployment. Mostly use for admin. It's heavy and the display is 250nits which is not bright enough for my aging eyes.

On nanoreview.net configuration page it's showing as 300nits for both 165 and 240Hz options.
