I find it very strange that I can only find information/reviews on either 5300 or 4200. There is absolutely nothing on 4300, besides a product page on the Linksys website... Is this the same as 4200?

Not sure what your point is but that's the product page I mentioned...

Anyways, this is not listed on the openwrt page (only 5300 and 4200 are listed).

This is a Wifi 6 (aka AX) 2x2 on 2.4GHz and one 5GHz radio. The other 5GHz radio is 4x4. It is based on the Qualcomm IPQ8174 chipset. It appears to be a variant of the MX4200 which does not support WPS, mesh networking, or the Linksys app [linksys.com] (this is a plus in my opinion).
The hardware is the same or very close. They reused [fcc.report] the FCC report data from the MX4200 for this one.

Why is no wps & mesh a plus?

I think they mean about the app.
With this had 6E as well. My phones and laptops are all 6E compatible.

You see this weird thing happening whenever they sell them at Costco like the axe5400 on Amazon is the axe5300 on Costco... Look at soundbars the JBL 800 soundbar is the same as the JBL 700 soundbar as in Costco with a few minor differences. Very well could have been a batch originally ordered by Costco?

Openwrt has support for mx4200 support merged and in snapshots. Since this is the same hw you can likely make it work. Some modding of the build may be needed to program it though.
